Kmart Australia are no longer stocking PSP gear as told to me by Kmart, why is this so?

Probably due to low demand for them. If it's going to just sit on the shelf, they won't bother stocking them. That's just my guess. I don't even live in Australia.

I might go out on a limb here but maybe it is because noone wants to stock a console that they can't even sell games for anymore (because of drm) when a new system has been announced that might be released soon. Though I don't know if there has been any reliable source for a release date, it is rumoured to be early in 2011. Maybe they are just sick of Sonys drm crap.

You're thinking of PSP Go, which is by far the least selling psp console. The PSP 3000 uses UMDs, so you can buy games for them from retail stores.

I recently picked up a PSP cheap and it's awesome! Not sure why anyone wouldn't want one.

I am referring to the 3000 with UMD's, come to think of it I didn't see any PSP Go ether

I got a PSPGo as a Christmas/birthday (my birthday's right next to Christmas >.>) present last year, so I can give a view on it, completely independent of its cost. I think it is one seriously nice piece of kit. It's the size of my phone which makes it so much easier to carry (very important aspect for me), and the controls (especially the analog stick) are far superior IMO, plus you can use an actual PS3 remote with it. However, running homebrew on it is currently a bit of a pain as you have to go through the patapon demo. Of course, no UMD's. I don't really care that much; since I've still got my old 1000 and I'll never part with it, so it's not an issue personally. I use the Go when I'm out and about and I use my 1000 at home, so it works nicely for me.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw an opinion out there, since I mainly just see people who don't own one bashing it...

I didn't know KMart was still in business; all the ones around me have died. Are they still well alive in Australia, or are there just a few left? Cause if the latter's the case then it might make sense. But then, maybe KMart only went out of business around me because Walmart's got an insane hold on the market where I'm at for some reason.

Well, speaking of the PSPgo...

The question still remains...
It's a Good Friday holiday, you're a PS3 owner and your PSPgo's battery completely dies, but then you go to look for your PSPgo (propriety) charging cable only to find that you actually left it at your Uncle's place (in Sydney...and you're from W.A.)...
All shops are closed and you really want to download a 1 day only promo to get a new retail game for free...What do you do?
You look at your PS3 and wish that the controller charging cable was compatible to charge your PSPgo (because your PSP (3000 model) was all good with that cable).

Really...The only thing to do is stab yourself in both eyes with a pencil and rage throw your PSPgo against the wall (in complete anger and insanity) as hard as you can.

P.S. I'm an owner of a couple of PSPs (3000 models) and a PSPgo, but absolutely regret getting a PSPgo for AU $350 (I use it all the time though...as an mp3 player), because...the PSP Store does not offer every single game that say...EB Games or JB Hi-Fi offers.
