Spell Error: Odrois-S -> ODROID-S

There's a news for great successor to ODROID from hardkernel.com.

They said following improvements will be made, and it will be on stock in Korea in late June.

CPU: S5PC100(833 MHz) -> S5PC110(1 GHz)
Added: USB2.0 Host, Geo Magnetic Compass Sensor

Other hardware specifications are likely to remain unchanged.

Screen: 480x320 Capacitive Touch Screen
Ram: 512 MB DDR2
1x MicroSD Card Slot
1x SDHC Card Slot
Mini HDMI Output (Type-C)
WiFi/BT Module
Accelerometer Sensor

Even though screen resolution is relatively low compared to other recent gadgets, I'm kind of thrilled to see this little monster...

Lol, after only 10 months or so...a successor to Odroid already.

It better have a couple of analogue sticks, a proper cross (+) d-pad and better placed action buttons, as well as physical L & R shoulder buttons this time!!!

EDIT: Where's your source, by the way?

Also, isn't S5PC110(1 GHz) used in the ODROID-T?

SoC has fantastic 3D - SGX540 which is dramatically better than the inhouse IP used in the S5PC100 - but if the controls still suck then it'll all be for nothing.

CPU is of course very competitive right now, but I still think real devices shipping with dual core Cortex-A9s are not too far off. Still, the S5PC110 is probably quite reasonably priced and very nice for a chip you can reasonably put in a design right now.

Sadly, I fully expect this to have the exact same mechanical design as the original Odroid. I think the odds of the controls having been overhauled are basically nothing. Samsung probably made S5PC110 an easy upgrade path over S5PC100, the USB 2.0 host probably came almost for free with the SoC upgrade, and the magnetometer isn't a huge addition.

Pandora is getting passed up cpu/gpu wise but no one is even getting in the ballpark controls wise. It really is a super shame pandora wasn't shipping 2 years ago.

Oh man, I was quiet stunned to see Bold Red Texts...

Anyway, here is the source you requested.

I live in Korea and I'm definitely getting one...

Actual shipping starts at 25th this month.

Looking forward to run PS1 emulator on this...

Below is the link to specification page.

Does anybody know the price of this? By the way, the developer edition is available now.

There are two versions.
If you need H/W schematics and serial debug port, you may pay US$399.
Or, US$299 seems to be enough to start Android world.

I've prepared short introduction to Odroid-S, in English...

I'll try to post actual review when the device comes out...

I'm not getting it. I hate my Odroid as a gaming device but love it as an internet tablet mainly due to Android OS. The odroid's cpu is 833MHz, 1GHz doesn't seem to be a big leap. Emulators are not as good as Wiz's.

I'm getting it. 'Cause I don't have an Odroid.
Besides, there's huge improvement in GPU (Samsung IP -> PowerVR SGX 540) which you can benefit from:
- Movie Playback (1080p h264)
- Smooth 3D Gaming (PSX, N64 Emulation etc., if ZodTTD manages to take advantage of the GPU)
- Possibility in Improved Power Management
- USB host via TTA20 port (Conversion Dongle is Provided), now you can connect GPS or Camera. :gp2x

Also Android is kinna useless without Market. Has anyone been able to get Market to work in Eclair on Odroid?

Has anyone been able to find a usb-ac adaptor that works with the Odroid?

That would be a deal breaker. I wouldn't mind seeing an O-Droid S Lite at $200. That's a very competetive price point, although at $300 it competes well with the iPod touch.

I also read that Gameboid GBA emulator is having problems running on Odroid's Eclair. I can't get the latest version to run on my Cupcake.
