Hello Everyone
I just purchased a GP32 and have a million questions. I'll try to keep it brief. I have a MAC G4 with OS X and can not get the USB to recognize on my comp. IS this normal? What steps or means do I need to take in order to use the GP32 on my computer.? ALso where do I go to get Emulator games to play on the unit which are compatible with the MAc? Thanks Any help would be greatly appreciated

The original gp32 link software is PC compatible only.

mac stuff for GP32
I believe Igp32 is a nice suite to use with the mac (not a mac user myself). Alternatively you could invest in a card reader.

As for the emulator games refered to as ROMS or Images, you are not allowed to request them in the forum for copyright and legal issues but a search of the internet might turn up some answers.

Ryan?
Hey, how are you enjoying the gamepark? I sent you an email with the mac link stuff, and about the phodrive usb program, still having problems?

Also, what did you think of the games on the card, they were mostly my favorites.

On the mac there is also a program to link to the gamepark, convert movies to gamepark settings, and rip music. If you want a link, I can look it up again.
Edit: Iorgy77 beat me to it, its called Igp32.

Also, on beats of rage, the castlevania mod under options has speed, its too fast unless you up it to 2300 or so.

Get IGP32 and install on your hard drive (drag and drop naturally) then it will work. Dont use GPDrive or the other mass storage things as they dont work. That is all (note IGP32 isnt amazingly fast I would get a SMC reader - I havent but I would if I had spare cash).

Hey guys - why don't the old USB apps work? Is it because the new GP32's have got different firmware? Do they not have the PC link mode anymore? Has anybody tried Mr. Spiv's command line app?

I use the gp32linker program that's in the link given above. It's a little bit quirky to use, but works just fine.

As far as I know all those GUI apps include the commandline application burried somewhere behind the GUI.

So does that mean that it doesn't work? I was planning on doing a new version (but still based on your command line tool) now that I know what I am doing with Xcode at bit more...

Ryan, download MacGP32Linker, attach the usb to the GP and go into 'PCLink' on the GP. Fire up MacGP32Linker to format the card. I only use it for formatting.
Get a cheap card reader! I got a SanDisk ImageMate for $15 that reads SM and XD. Once you've formatted the card, stick it in the reader and it's just drag+drop/create folders etc, just like any media storage device. It's just not worth the hassle of command lines etc if you just want to play some games, and you'll be wasting your batteries too.
Get a reader!

Thanks everyone for your help..I was not able to get the iGP32 program to work on my computer however the Maclink software worked. One problem I have encountered though is after downloading the Sega Dr MD software I get error messages when I try to place the games in the directory. The game park loads about 5-8% then goes back to now waiting and an error message appears in Maclink saying it did not load..THese files are bin files whch are supposed to work..Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
Ryan
