Sales of the GP have gone up a lot in the last 2 weeks, apparently there is a review in a magazine somewhere, does anyone know which mag? I like to keep a collection, I was thinking maybe it was in PC Action Emulate? Problem is I can't find that mag anywhere in the world ever.

Anyone confirm?

Thanks,

Craig

When someone places an order, just tell 'em it's free if they send you their mag.

:p

Possibly this issue:

Systems Addict
This issue we’ve focused on handhelds (with a few other machines that we haven’t covered before thrown in for good measure) – and in this section you’ll find info on each system, along with some suggestions for what to play on the emulator and, if required, a step-by-step guide to getting the emulator on our Cover CD up and running.

Is it sold in shops? Or only online?

I've tried tescos, smiths, asda, garages... nowhere has it.

You can read the article online. here.

They don't only mention GBAX as supplier - they CALLED it GBAX GamePark GP32.

No wonder your sales increased :)

Nice :)

That's an old review which I read a while back. See the posted date at the bottom. If they did re-use that one it's a bit of a cop out.
Issue 6 is sold out online so you'd have to check out eBay if you really want a copy.

Edit: Ack, none available on eBay. Has anyone bought this magazine? I've never managed to find it in shops either.

"The GP32 is open source so people are encouraged to write games for it, although there aren't that many decent ones available for it at the moment. "

No that is wrong, it is 8-way. Up, down, left, right plus the diagonals in between. There has never been a console with only 4-directions ever released ;)

Pretty sure the Atari 2600 joystick was four way.

Don't confuse the possibility of having diagonals with 8way / 4way!

4-way does mean, you have 4 contacts (like most old digital sticks or the GP32).
Diagonals work because two contacts are closed at the same time (i.e. contact for up and right if you press up/right).

8-way means, you have 8 contacts (one for each direction and one for each diagonal direction). That's more precise.

thanks evildragon that was exactly what i meant.

of course i can diagonals, otherwise the GP32 was quite useless...

but almost every console and controller i know has a 4 way stick (hm, actually never have seen a 8 way controller).
diagonals are always done with combinations (up+left, and so on).

or would you say the GP32 has 32 buttons, because you can count any combination of the 6 buttons (would that be 6^2? not sure...too late)?
