Been looking round for a while now for a new media player, are the 802 USB sticks still worth getting?

Been looking at the Minix Neo X8-H which is getting good reviews.

Feedback from anyone with hands-on knowledge of either product much appreciated.

The mk802 HDMI stick?

I had one of those, gave it away when I got the iMiti MX1.

The MX1 is better.

Those are the only 2 I've had though

Sorry yes the MK802

Trying to find some info on the iMito MX1, is it still available?  Has a newer model been released?

I just been reading about Amazon's new Fire TV Stick.

http://www.engadget.com/2014/10/27/amazon-fire-tv-stick/

Only $30 or so [not sure about price over here but going to be cheaper than Chromecast I think], and if you have Amazon Prime account, you can pick one up for $19.

Seems rather than cast your apps to it from a phone/tab... it hooks onto net services and streams the content, like Netflix/YouTube etc.

But, you can also mirror your phone/tablet screen at it too, so that should have gaming covered.

Might be worth you checking it out...

All our music and movies is purchased on physical media, we rip everything to play from our media server.

I'd like a player with an ethernet port so that it can connect directly.

Plus I don't trust Amazon or Google enough to allow them access to our media sever.

I used to have a Sumvision Cyclone.

They're decent, played pretty much anything I chucked on the microSD or USB stick and plugged in.

Just looked at some of their other devices... Perhaps the Nano 2 Slim would be good?

Android OS built in.

Ethernet.

£39.99
