New Gpadvance Version - V1.48

It's pretty ironic... at first people are bitching for too many updates and now the same individuals are bitching because there's not enough updates. I am quite happy being that I thought GBA would never be emulated, and the fact that they are getting larger roms to work. Perhaps SNES coders should try this approach for Star Ocean I'd love to be able to play it on the go.

The problem isnt the size, its the super FX chip which is hard to emulate

I'm quite familiar with gba stuff, there's some info here and a patch at the bottom of the page. The game gives similar results on some emus and gba flashcarts, this helps fix it.

Btw, hi, everyone! I joined up here because I'm thinking of (saving up to :p ) getting a gp32, and stuff like this just encourages me even more...exciting

While the latest version is technically 1.48, it actually might have the same fixes as 1.47 since the log file (Commentaires.txt) only has 1.47, and the 1.48 revision was only one hour after the 1.47 revision.

Hello, guys !

I just want to add a comment about the number of releases : in fact I am worked at school and I don't work always on the same computer, that's why I use cvs to save my work each evening and that's why there is a new gpadv.fxe each day, but sometimes new versions don't have much improvements.
Soo I will try to update gpadv.fxe only if it there is a real improvement.

I am now working on the stability and on debugging features, soo don' t expect a lot of new versions by these days.

Thanks everybody for your interrest ! (and excuse my english :))

Thank you for showing us that full speed GBA emulation is possible - *let alone* that dynamic loading of roms is!

And as lizard808uk said, your English is fine :)

Anybody know if Driver2 advance is working yet? Its a 64mb ROM, so I am hopeful...

Just a thought - not a developer so cuss my ass (I'm sure he won't mind) if I'm talking dipshit - would it be possible to use something like the old PC utility DoubleSpace to increase the amount of "available RAM" - I know this is best known for "doubling" Hard Disk Space - but it also increased RAM (presumably by some sort of Compression/Decompression algorithm)...

Addendum - OK -just checked my assertion about Memory & DoubleSpace/DriveSpace - and its Bollox - BUT there was a utility out there called RAM Doubler - which claims to do what I thought DoubleSpace did - for Memory....

OR could you create a RAMDisk and use DoubleSpace with that and treat that as ROM?

hmm i thin the ram is not a major problem anymore.. sine we have allready seen 16MB roms loading! on 8MB Ram... the method he is using now works really good, and if it gets a bit opmimized, there wont be a problem with this anymore (this is my opinion)
i can life with some loading times in gba games ;)
