Still Fresh
i got some new sainsburys uk extra long life alkaline, which only lasted half an hour, i thought it could play up to 4-5 hours???

alkalines are bad for ya gp2x, mkey?

Use NiMH with at least 2500mAh only and ya GP2x will be one happy puppy!

where i get these from? whats the cost, also is there are throw away batteries i can use with it in the mean time?

Energizer lithiums are the only non disposables, Most alkalines cannot keep the voltage up at the required current.

Most general stores have 2500 mAH batteries and a chrager. I would go for the Duracell 2650 mAH and its charger, which you can pick up in something even in like Kroger, Wal-Mart, etc.

if you want some disposables, panasonic xtreme are okay, but nowhere near as good as rechargables. Sainsburys batteries are terrible in whatever you use the for.

how long would panasonic xtreme last for? thanks all :)
1 1/2 - 2 hours. Get some rechargables, they're the only way to get any enjoyable time.

You can get a decent set of rechargeables from 7dayshop for £4 or so and a charger for a little bit more.

i dunno what to get for the price i went on 7dayshop too much stuff on there i dont know which to buy, which does everyone use?

also would these do?

Energizer Ultra Compact Charger

4X Energizer 2500 mAh rechargeable batteries.
saw them on ebay uk

Disposable batteries are:

1). Waste of your money.
2). Waste of resources.
3). Wasteful for the environment.

Do yourself a favour and everyone else - buy some rechargeables!

If you live in the USA, go to a Fry's Electronics if you are near one. They have a plethora of patteries and chargers. I got myself a fancy charger with a LCD that tells you how full the batteries are.

You can buy these damn things everywhere. Hell I can buy them at my grocery store and I live in a HUGE hick town. If you can buy alkaline just go to where they sell digital cameras and ask them "where can I buy some batteries for my camera that I can recharge?"

That's all you have to say. Since digital cameras use high drain they will point you towards the nimh batteries. They are also extremely cheap which is an upside.

Here is some reading that you may find helpfull. I myself didn't know what nimh batteries were so I did a quick wikipedia search and damn near shit my pants on how usefull they are. :D

From me to you.
