wget https://qemu.openpandora.org/PandoraOperatingSystems/Zaxxon1.55-31.07.2013.imz

zcat Zaxxon1.55-31.07.2013.imz > /dev/sda

Put that SD/MMC into left slot of pandora.

Press [cube 3d pan key] + on/off button on "cockpit" to reboot

And, the mount will be done on /dev/mmcblk0p1. It does run Zaxxon with pandora-openpandora on the machine.

However... what is the root password?

To unshadow/decrypt it, it would take several hours.
here the hash:
Code:
root:$6$sfVauGPR$FqaiB880NuDJkIFyhJ.sQcmwLVtY03hv7mpUZ2ipxfnEdkA7yVwKybnnkXk3/hzrbZ60q5TaffuQIeJR5eFeM/:15830:0:99999:7:::
daemon:*:15830:0:99999:7:::

sudo su does prompt/ask for a password?

thank you guys !

wget -c --no-check-certificate "http://qemu.openpandora.org/PandoraOperatingSystems/Zaxxon1.55-31.07.2013.imz"
63b9b0cd35f9603a61a1a39fac7ad799 Zaxxon1.55-31.07.2013.imz

Worked and it was easy to zcat to SD/MMC.

If you have more recent, pandora/pyra OS for the machines, please feel free.
(alike raspios or pi debian os).

1.) btw, how to enable WIFI by default at each single reboot - on Zaxxon 1.5 (on SD/MMC) ?

2.) Is there a GCC/G++ (C++/C) compiler alike CLANG in the PND Store ??

( :( without a C/C++ compiler, i cannot run on Zaxxon the FLDE desktop :( https://gitlab.com/openbsd98324/flde)

Code::Blocks contains reasonably up-to-date GCC and may well also include CLANG (I've not checked). It is a bit of a monster download, so I suggest downloading it on a computer that's better connected, then transferring it to the sd card.

1.) C/C++

You mean that "CODE:BLOCK" is into PND Store (Zaxxon) ?

By the way, it is so much impressive how much packages are available into the PND Store.
I just installed supertux but boswars does not get installed.
Supertux (the little penguin) works fine and sound too on Zaxxon 1.55. I never played ever on the pandora ;)

I guess I need a CLANG/GCC/G++ - compiler to do work on it.

The question is how is it possible that so much packages are available, without CLANG/GCC/G++. There must be a C/C++ on Zaxxon.

2.)

Concerning the root pass, I did losetup and mounted partition 3. I started to decrypt., but it will take days on a PI.
I mounted partition 3, SD/MMC, on the PI, did chroot /media/mmcblk0p3, and set the pass. with passwrd root.
done.

3.)
Is there a openssh server or X11vnc into PND Store, in order to distanly access Zaxxon ?

4.) how to enable wifi at reboot of zaxxon ?

to start SSH and wifi at boot just go in
Settings -> Startup -> Enable/Disable services on boot

to start X11vnc just type it in a terminal

I can't understand what issues you have with root password... wasn't the first thing asked after the first boot ?

the passwrd for root was not asked at first boot.

actually, it is better like this. It recall me freebsd where you have a default password/login and you are into wheel. freebsd/freebsd su, root/root.

thank you

Supertuxkart crashes.
I tried GLES2 + NOP, it boots, but the story mode crashes.

OK, I try, i click to start it, then it asks for ROOT password, and I type it. .. and nothing happens.

Although the pass is correct.

cannot it be done from terminal?
I can have "su" and root access to work. I did chroot and i can get root on zaxxon.

The question is how is it possible that so much packages are available, without CLANG/GCC/G++. There must be a C/C++ on Zaxxon.

The built-in packages were cross-compiled, and most of the PNDs in the store were built with Code::Blocks. It's not a normal Linux build experience. If you want to do major stuff like changing the desktop environment, I'd recommend using Slackware instead.

OK, why not? Is there maybe, by chance a ready to use *.img.gz to test slackware?

I don't see one. Looks like the SD card setup is a similar procedure to what I wrote for SuperZaxxon earlier. I tried Slackware a few years back following the setup instructions and it wasn't difficult. I still don't understand why an advanced user who wants to do things like compile desktop environments needs a ready-to-use image :(

Oh wait, maybe there is. It's another of ingoreis' imz files, did it turn out you can use that with zcat?

I see :( . Well since there do seem to be images for 14.1 you could try those. Looks like there's a gz image too.

When I tried using Slackware, building software mostly just worked, and when I wasn't sure about something the normal Slackware documentation applied. Trying to build software for SuperZaxxon, there were often a lot of errors to track down.

Yes, the Code::blocks PND also contains all the dev. tools you might want (gcc, clang...). It also contains a "command line" menu entry so you can build stuff from command line. autotools, cmake, ninja... are all availble there. I suggest you use the beta version of the pnd from there https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/ptitsebs-beta-lair.77439/ if you are still interested in this.

The Code::Blocks PND has a newer GCC and libs than for the system packages, and you need to package the libs used into your PND. If somebody did want to compile a desktop environment, would it need to be built against the system packages?

I guess you'd need to change your LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and probably your -I includes in your GCC or CLANG call. It's not made easy for you as there are likely other ABI changes which your code won't be aware of that have happened over the intervening, so it makes little sense to make it easy when there's so much other work to accommodate.

Yeah, I was thinking that compiling a new desktop environment for SuperZaxxon probably means hours/days of troubleshooting. While Slackware on Pandora will probably behave basically the same as what you would expect from the normal version of Slackware.
