I just decided to put a movie on my SD card.
I went to my iTunes library and grabbed Spider-Man
The file is .m4v format and I used Handbrake to rip it from my DVD to the iPhone+iPod Touch settings
Plays without a hitch.
Just the sound is all gravely (and driving me nuts) (this is not related to the file or player but to a setting in the pandora that I can't find)

I can definatley see myself watching movies on this instead of on my iPhone. They end up being probably twice as big.

I really hope I get mine before the end of the month I'm being forced to go on a trip and having a pandora with plenty of SD storage for videos and movies would go a long way toward killing the boredom I'm expecting

It's quite cool to play videos in a little window. It feels weird doing that on a handheld.

How's gnome-mplayer? I've had trouble with it in the past, and now prefer smplayer as a frontend. I'll probably compile it when I get my pandora.

Does gnome-mplayer or smplayer let you use the hotkeys from standard mplayer?
I wouldn't mind a GUI, but I'm so used to the standard hotkeys that I'd rather have them if the GUIs don't. :p

I think they all work. I use space to start/stop for example.

I think space to start/stop is pretty universal anyway.

The ones I mainly care about are the different sized instant seeks.
(Left/Right seeks 10s, Up/Down 1min, and PgUp/Dn 10mins, by default)
I'm just used to being able to seek easily with the keyboard.

There's a few other ones I use, but I could probably live without them with a decent GUI.

Seeking also works, as does full-screen.

I've redone my Zaxxon install because I think Mplayer is screwing up my memory cards (locking the permissions and corruption).

I'm not putting the codec pack on again.
