The USB cable for my phone fits in the GP2X? And when I plug it in, and the GP2X is off, it powers up and has a white screen? Would this work for fixing a bricked unit? You can get them dirt cheap on ebay. My phone is a Kyocera SE44, and the SE47 has the same end too...

you are lucky that your gp2x still works, you could have bricked it.
the pinout of your phones cable is completely different.
google for the pinout of the cable and change it to the one of the gp2x (wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/ext)

just curious...how could it brick my gp2x? I'm completely ignorant when it comes to these kinds of things...

I think samsung phones should fit as well. I got the same connector on my C100.

Why would you gp2x brick if you hold some electrified cables randomly at the main board? Same reason, I think.
