Music For Your Stuff!

The one with the blaring siren was a good effort, but I think it needs even more siren and less of that high-pitched thingy.

I agree. The siren is very ominous, and doesn't fit very well with the flowery melodies layered on top.

Just finished listening to the new tracks, and they're all awesome. A lot of artists have a hard time being creative enough to come up with new melodies, but you seem to do very well. Excellent work. :)

Resurrecting old thread...

I just added a new tune. It's not at all 8-bitty, but it's kinda fun.

This music is spectacular! I will certainly consider using this as I am planning to do a remake/update of Kid Icarus and something 8-bitty would be perfect since it was only released on NES and GameBoy. This is going to help a lot of us who wanted to make games and thought, "Gee, IDK what I'm going to do for music." Now if I can only find someone to do the artwork...

I particularly like this 8-bit piece.

That was... unnecessary, still funny, but unnecessary.

I totally like your stuff, it's amazing, the new non-8-bit tune is also cool (and something different).

Just a daft question: Would you be interested or willing to create some personalized music? Of course I have my game in development in mind, so I would ask you to create some music with a certain mood or tied to a certain level set (we are not that far, so it's more a general question ;) )

Anyway, keep it up :)

that would be really fun.

If you have some general ideas, like creepy dark forest level, or ethereal level in the clouds type of stuff, I would be happy to try and create something for you.

Also, what types of sounds are you looking for? Retro type stuff, modern sounds...

Hmm, pretty good! My favourite piece is your latest one, actually. (and really, the Pandora's not 8-bit; there's no reason at all to limit videogame music to 8-bit tracks except for stylistic purposes)

If anyone's curious for a good music resource in general, there's a huge amount of music (much of it quite good) on Newgrounds, all licensed under Creative Commons licenses: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/

I even have some music of my own up there, and you're welcome to use it if you want, although it's not really videogame music (doesn't loop, for one thing... maybe I should try making some that does one day...):

Great to hear that, as I said, we are not that far, but I will definitely come back to you...
I am mostly searching for modern sounds (can be 8-bit), I already like what you've put up, but for some levels the sounds just need to express a certain mood. Another thing would be looping sounds, currently your sounds don't loop (so the end matches the beginning), so maybe you could try and create some looping sounds, these are mostly easier to use for games, especially background music.

Ah, thanks for reminding me, maybe I can put my long-time NG user accound to use then ;)

I remixed three of those tunes - they are now actually loopable :)

Theme 1 through 3

I quite enjoyed danceypants. I can imagine it accompanying a good old-fashioned platformer, the tune is memorable too.

I would also be interested in giving it a try to compose music "per order", like HomoChristo said; Request a tune for certain context, preferably provide a little graphics for us to derive influence from. All in good fun with no strings attached (until the quality of the production meets the criteria).
