Should I buy an used MKI model without joystick modification and carrying case, TV-out cable, 2600mAh batteries and two SD card's (1GB and other 256MB) for 210,- euro's?

Or should I buy a brand new MKII model with an 1GB SD Card for 230,- euro's?

I've a mkII and i've never had a problem with the stick that I keep hearing about! Plus if ur worried about putting the screen protector on then the mkII is a good option as they ship already assembled (they seem to have forgot at the factory about finishing the mkI units off :D ).

That's because the stick problems came with the MK1. Also, the screen protector is already on I assume casue it's used.

Well, I think I'm going for the used MK1, hard decision yes... :(

nope the mkIIs come with the screen protector installed

Looking at the deal you have I would get the MKI, as long as it is still in good shape.

The only thing the MKII really has going for it is the rotated joystick (which I do wish I had) and that it is new.

Hi everybody. Long time no see.
I've been kind of busy for a while so I lost track about GP2X.
Could someone tell me the diff between MK1 & MK2?
Thanks for your time.

see you

I'm understanding the MKII screen doesn't flicker.
Neither does mine. So I'm at a loss to find the reason why he shouldn't go with the MKI.

You must not be reading very well. The MKI that he wants to purchase is used, so it very likely already has the protecter on it. A preinstalled protector in the MKII line is a moot point (and has been since the beginning in my opinion).

As long as the MKI doesn't have any *real problems*, there's no reason to spend more just to get the newer unit. My gp2x isn't new and it's still incredibly fun.

MkII - supposely has the joystick rotated to relieve the sucky diagonals issue.

Can someone confirm?
That makes very little difference. The feel of the assembly isn't much different between units.

I have played with a M2 version. While yes it feels the same, the stick rotation does make a difference. Before in Outcast when moving around on the keyboard the cursor would always jump up when you just wanted to go across, The M2 stick doesn't do that anymore. In Ms PacMan in MAME before it sometimes would miss a direction because the ordinal target was smaller, with the M2 no problem. It is a definite improvement.
