Megadrive And Megacd Emulators

I always preferred Street Fighter on the Megadrive. Super Street Fighter 2 for the Megadrive was the greatest fighting game of the 16bit generation.

Obviously you've never played on a NeoGeo then :)

mega cd would be an awesome emu to have. Just take a look at all the REAL games available for it - mainly japanese only. Loads of shooters and platformers. Oh yeah, and working designs made some great translations of some japanese rpgs such as the 2 lunars, vay etc etc.

omg, that guy in the blue hat must want to shoot him self after that performance!

on topic, cant wait for for gp2x version of DrMD with or without megaCD support.

Doesn't the Megadrive have less buttons than Snes? Doesn't this make Street Fighter on it worse i e less types of punches/kicks? Or am I wrong?

Megadrive pad has 6 buttons....all on the pad.....2 rows of 3....snes had 4 and two shoulder buttons...someone correct me if im wrong

Streetfighter was played with 2 rows of three buttons........hense id rather the megadrive pad.

Simplicity was the key...

I really hope DrMD get released with 60fps and perfect sound.

I will definitely make a donation. after I get my GP2x.
man. I love the genesis.

ohh btw: I don't like the newer Street Fighter or KOF96-2004

I think they made the characters too anime style and the guys looks too much like ghay or metrosexual.

SF2 and KOF94/95 have more of "darker" style. and blood.

Actually that controller was released specifically for the fighting games coming out at the time. I think the first one to use it was Eternal Champions. There was a "Mode" button on the pad's shoulder for older games that had compatibility issues with the newer controller. The original Genesis/Megadrive pad only had A, B, C, and Start.

well that may be true for the kof games:)D), how can you say the alpha series' characters were gay looking??
SF3 had more anime style characters, but not bad(and took gameplay to much higher level). remy is the only character in that game that i would say looks metrosexual haha ;)

a 32X, Genesis, and SegaCD (not those heathen 'Mega' euro crap)

Lets see:

2x SH-2 CPUS at 23MHZ
a 68000 at ~7Mhz
annother 68000 at 12Mhz
a Z80 at 4Mhz

a 7 button pad (6 on the face and the little used MODE button)

The fully upgraded Sega system was really more like a weak Saturn, and would have mutilated the SNES or NeoGeo had it had the chance. (stupid SEGA, canceled the sytem when there were annother 5-10 games already half finnished.)

It is also a Uber-bitch to emulate, as multiple CPUs must be kept in synch.

a GP2X emulator is very unlikely.

I wonder, if Genesis was called Megadrive in Europe, because of the band "Genesis"? Kinda like Biohazard is Resident Evil, because some german band is called "Biohazard"...

There's also an American band called Biohazard. I was under the impression that they were more well-known. Their singer/bassist is screwing porn star Tera Patrick. Lucky bastard.

Yeah, the Megadrive had no shoulder buttons, that was an "invention" of Nintendo.

But it had as much buttons as the SNES pad, however I found the L and R button set up +4 action buttons much more comfortable(and it came to be the industrial standard anyway) than the 6 buttons of the Megadrive Pad.

ok, genesis in n. america and canada (and territories) but megadrive everywehre else!

The name Megadrive along with its snappy logo just oozed late 80's excessiveness. God knows what SOA were thinking when they came up with genesis? Probably the same as when they came up with nomad.

It was also called Genesis In Canada which contrary to popular belief is not part of the USA.

good old genesis.

crappy name, yes. but we're all used to it.
