Recently the NS, dutch railway is implementing more and more free wifi in trains. I just wanted to say it works like a charm with the pandora. Only via firefox though somehow chromium doesnt let me log in. You do have to log in to a t-mobile hotspot.

Nice! This is very good news as I commute by train every day.

Though I personally have yet to encounter a train providing WiFi.

Hope I will encounter them on my daily commute from Wageningen to Utrecht then ;)

Not a Dutch railway, so possibly the wrong thread, but the East Coast line in the UK has free wifi (providing you give it an email address). I've used it on my phone and my netbook (webkit/opera mobile and firefox respectively), and while it's not especially fast on a train full of commuters, it's usable. I don't have my Pandora yet though, so I can't say whether that would work for sure.

OH YEAH!? well the McDonals in usa has wifi! yay cheezeburger!

Well <europese country x> had <generic product Y> before the USA!

But the USA had <generic product Z> before <asian country Foo>

and so on... and so on...

Well everybody knows that the Netherlands is the New Supreme World Power, so no need to bash those in the USA.

Aaaaaanyway, about the wifi in Dutch macdonalds, how does that work? You just ask for an access code or something? i hardly ever eat there, but might consider a cup of coffee for wifi time.

Cheers!

here in BE it's an *unprotected* wifi that redirects you to a macdonalds infomercial you have to watch every hour.

EDIT: it's capped at 20kb/s and port 80 only

As long as it works in my house I'll be happy. My Pandora will not be allowed out and I'm keeping it locked in a glass case like what the Queen keeps her Crown Jewels in. My precious.

yeah but canananada doesnt count, thats like the restaurant across the street you know of where nobody eats but it somehow stays in business, plus it closes at 9 like canananada

Bump.

I travel with the 'Arriva Sprinter trains' in the north (instead of the NS-trains), which don't have wireless aboard. Granted, it's only a short trip from and to work, but if really needed I can access internet through my Android smartphone through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (if I can't solve it through my phone, and trust me, I can do a lot with it, like FTP, SSH, etc).

Speaking of which, any Dutchies/Belgians interested in a Pandora meeting sometime? Around Amersfoort later this year, or something? Just chill out, get to know other national community members and have fun with our Pandoras. :)

Fine by me, we had one in june I think but then there were only 3 people. 2 with a pandora :p

More Pandoras have been shipped and there're also more active users since then, so it will hopefully attract more people. ;) I wasn't there myself, though, but I've been a long time reader of the OP/2x boards (recently registered) and I recently ordered an OP myself.

With all the sex on Dutch trains, I hardly see the point in playing with ones Pandora for amusement ..
