Still Fresh
After a quick search, i found that the subject has been vaguely discussed here so i think a dedicated topic won't hurt.
When i go out to a destination i'm not familiar with, i always think that it'd be great to use the gp2x to read maps. From time to time, i make a screenshot of a map with low details and then use the gp2x image viewer but that's not very useful.
Recently i ran into this : Maemo Mapper. It's a mapping software for the Nokia N800. The interesting part is that it can cache some mapping data (Google Maps data) so they can be read offline. Plus, it's under GPL licence so i wondered : could it be ported to GP2X? Of course, i'm not asking for anything here, i'd just like to discuss with people with programming knowledge (as i basically don't have any) wether such a project is doable or not.
