Hi I am newbe to linux and I have a sagem 800 adsl modem I have download the drivers and untar them using the terminal shell command, I then run the make command but the shell driver will not find the linux kernal with is linux-2.4.19-16mdk to install and their is no configure file. Now do I open the shell driver and edit with the kernal dir or do I use a terminal shell command? please help this newbe.

There is a long way to go...

You'll need to:

- learn how to configure and compile a linux kernel
- download kernel sources
- configure them correctly for use with pppoe
- compile the kernel
- get the kernel to run
- finally install the adsl driver

There are dozens of HOWTOs which can be found via google.
If all this seems to much hassle for you, you might, as someone
already said in the other thread, simply buy a dsl router for a
few bucks, so you won't need linux pppoe anymore.
