Despite being a pretty big retro head I find individual emulators have always been at the forefront of my gaming habit, the GP2x is the only platform I've ever used mame on...and I'm confused.

In some review videos (such as craigs GP2x review) I've noticed that games are played in mame that are quite clearly not part of the 0.34 romset. How do I go about playing the likes of streetfighter 2 or Marvel Vs capcom on my GP2X with mame, is it something to do with the Dat file, rom dumping or is it just not possible?

I feel like a total noob but its really bugging me so I've decided to swallow my pride and ask....please help.

The one that's currently sitting on gp2x.co.uk his review video, ok so he doesnt actually specify mame but he does mention arcade and is clearly running 2 major arcade based beat em ups.

A similar thing can be seen in the TV out demo video released not long ago.

    Ah well never mind.

Ooops, sorry ... brain fart :p

    You can play SFII:

    Code:
    sf1 "Street Fighter (World)"
    sf1jp "Street Fighter (Japan)"
    sf1us "Street Fighter (US)"
    sf2 "Street Fighter 2 (World)"
sf2a "Street Fighter II (US rev A)"
sf2b "Street Fighter II (US rev B)"
sf2ce "Street Fighter II' - Champion Edition (World)"
sf2cej	"Street Fighter II - Champion Edition (Japan)"
sf2e "Street Fighter II (US rev E)"
    sf2j "Street Fighter 2 (Japan)"
sf2t "Street Fighter II' - Hyper Fighting (US)"
sf2tj "Street Fighter II Turbo (Japan)"
... but not Marval vs Capcom.

Maybe you were thinking of SNK vs. Capcom?

yeah, that's probably what he's thinking... SVC:Chaos is on GnGeo2x and SF2 runs in MAME, but it's a bit on the slow/choppy side. Try the genesis version of that ;)
