I've just spotted that Tinnus is working on rewriting the palm version of Little John. For those that don't know, LJP is a multi system emulator, and is much more than the NES emulator of the same name we had on the GP32. For the anouncement and a list of what it can do, have a look at its website: http://tinnus.gp32z.com/ljp/

The bit that makes this news exciting for GP2X users is this bit from the announcements comments:

"And any OS ports already planned, such as Windows, BEOS, and so forth?"
At first, there will be Palm OS5 and Windows. The Windows version will use only SDL though so it should compile out-of-the-box in any OS that supports SDL (ie: Linux).

Later on, there will be official ports to the GP2X, PSP and maybe GP32 too. Each port will contain device-specific coding to take the most possible out of each system in order to maximize speed :)
LJP is an excellent set of emulators. I guess we're in for quite a wait, but it's on the way!

Many of those emus in LJP are just ports from the GP32 in the first place. Many are not full speed and have no sound (WS, NGP). The Genesis is better on the GP2X than in LJP right now. The one emu that would be nice is the SNES module as it was ported from the GP32 but then optimised. It is cool if it happens but honestly F-day will blow that away, and sooner...

Hm, do you know something about fday that I don't?
Are you allowed to say?

Eh, he released the Reminescense interpreter/port, and that minimal library.

And I hear that's his modus operandi, to disappear for awhile, then suddenly come back with a release.

Maybe for the comp2006, sweep the prizes...

Ryleh has not disappeared at all, he is more active now than ever. He made the minimal lib which most GP2X emus use.

Pffft.  Ryleh disappeared from the face of this site.  Forget Fday, its over.

Oh no he hasn't. He is around and if what I hear is true ( I believe this source ;) ;) ) it will be here for the GP2X AND even the GP32 as well.... I don't know when though but be patient. Nothing more and NO I don't have any betas, just info :) You will see :)

And any of you who haven't experienced his emus on the GP32, you are in for a treat. You know me and how fussy I am, and I say his emus ROCK!

Rlyehs Emus are to die for :)

Seriously. Imagine an emulator with an even slicker interface than Reesys Megadrive offering and almost as much compatability. Nice easy access to settings and tweaks and that is the state of the Fday preview emulators he released a few months ago.

What the finished Fday emulators will be like if the previews are anything to go by is awesome!

Ryleh has not disappeared, the last time I spoke to him he was taking a break and trying to debug his life.

Maybe he could borrow Reesy's Cyclone-debugger thingamajig? Of course, it would have to have a comparison life...

I really need some ASM to my life... :( Everything is going so sluggish.

I just want to stress how good and user friendly his emus are. They were just so flippin slickon the GP32. I would buy this man a gp2x just for them alone*

*too poor.

Yep, he just needed a little break and had a not-at-all working devboard so he couldn't even try out his programs.
I sent him a gp2x, now he just needs to recover a bit more... and then he'll start coding again.

It's normal to take some breaks now and then, you know?
