Hi all,

I have been talking to Lik-Sang (via email) and they have asked me for a screenshot of the wrapped scanline bug, especially for Dungeon and Guarder. Is there a way that I can take an actual screendump (not a photo) without using geepee32 (which wouldn't have the problem obviously).

Lik-Sang want to forward this screenshot to Gamepark.

The best and the only way is to take a photo of the screen. Because even if somehow you manage to make a screenshot, there won't be any glitches on it as it is not a CPU/memory problem just LCD. From my experience it is not too hard to take a good quality picture of GP32 screen. But well, at least you need to have a digital camera.

Need little help ... got that game in .smc file only (already erased the original card), how can I use it?

Open up your GP32, then solder pin number 73 on the CPU to CPU pin number 54. Now boot your GP32, dance around naked in moonlight, and go to the police station to turn yourself in for piracy.

You could just dump the framebuffer, then manually move the top scanline to the bottom... That'd be cheating, but still...

This is what I have done. I told Lik-Sang that though, and that I would send a screenshot as soon as I had a clear one.

@Tristan

If you think it's funny, than stick it up to your ... you know where.
If you dont get it, I already bought that game, as well as BLU+ and RF adapter. So if you have nothing more to say, then please STFU!!

Here is a picture that PiNa1971 posted in a different thread of him trying to play Frodo. That's the most I can do to help since I don't have a BLU+. ;)

@GPJosh

The point of sending picture of COMMERCIAL game non working is to prove GP wrong when they said all COMMERCIAL games are not affected by their LCD change. I got a good digital camera, and I hope I can take a GOOD picture showing the problem, but I need to get that game back on my SMC first.

@Tristan
if you read his other post you'd have already known it wasn't piracy

Ok, just thought it might be useful to some people here, as the first post said especially for Dungeon and Guarder, but not limited to. Anyway, good luck on getting a screenshot. :)

Irony... As if GamePark doesn't have DnG and a BLU+ to see it for themselves. <_< Did they even have someone test the commercial games on the new screens?

GP Exec 1: OK, we have these new Taiwanese screens. They're nice and bright but they may not work with some homebrew stuff. As long as they work with commercial games it's good enough. Can someone test that out?

GP Exec 2: Umm, yeah, OK I'll get someone to test it out.

...

GP Exec 2: Hey Joe, got a job for ya. Here, take this GP32 and these games and tell me if they work. You have one hour.

Joe The Janitor: OK, boss. Thanks boss! I sweeped here for 3 years and always wondered what you guys made here. So it's these little Gameboy things. Cool.

GP Exex 2: It's not a Gameboy! It's a GamePark. Anyway, tell me if the games work OK. One hour. Go.

I guess they're desperately sticking to their "commercial games work perfectly" story until LikSang proves otherwise. Very sad situation.

Good luck with the photos folks.

I am willing to help, but can't figure how to get that .smc file working on my GP32. If somebody is able to help, then please PM me.

Oh well, in that case, sorry...

Uhm... There are tools to extract files from .smc's again. I believe I had one for getting my program back from an .smc file... Lemme look

Ok mate, if you will find it, please pm me.

I took nice picture of Pinball Dreams showing that line. Will up it now. and post link.

EDIT: Picture is here ... I had to take it without flash, so it's kinda dark, but hey, it shows that line pretty well. It has around 700KB.

** you have to cut and paste this link to your browser, sorry **

I love my old Nikon Coolpix 995 - THE camera for macros.
