Hi,

Starting from now, KAMI RETRO is half price (0.99 GBP instead of 1.99) this weekend:

http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=com.pawprintgames.kamiretro

Google tells me this is around:

$1.50 USD

€1.15 EUR

The price will be back to usual on Monday morning (UK time).

If you have any problems with the game feel free to message me or post to this thread and I'll do what I can to help.

For a second I thought that you were from paw byte… Then I took a peek at the screenshots of your game and knew it wasn't the case :D

I'll probably buy your game, but not right now, I'm… broke

I bought it and try it for a half hour. My main problem is that it is only luck the little man is jumping. I barely beat the first level. Tried to do it like shown in the tutorial, but it only works every fifth time or so. Maybe it's my "skills"(same which doesn't allow to beat Microbes' tutorial in hard). I will continue to try.

@dummi Are you running on the latest firmware? I used to have touch issues on an older firmware which sound similar to what you are experiencing, however Notaz made a firm into one of the firmware (don't recall which) that improved things a lot. Something else to check, make sure the screen is seated in the case nicely, I have had cases before where the screen ends up pushing against one of the edges of the case (the case that sits over the screen) which mean the screen would get 'touched' in those areas from time to time, leading to erratic touch screen behaviour. If you aren't able to get the game to function correct then I am more than happy to refund you.

That's something I wanted to get for some time!

(But there's always such a lot of other cool stuff to try on the Pandora. <_< )

So I took the chance and bought it now...

Thanx for the offer!

EDIT:
The tutorial looks nice and easy - but it's really tricky to make the little guy jump!

I'll guess, some practice is needed... :)

I seem to remember that it is easy to miss that you actually need to touch the little guy to make him jump. I.e. it is not enough to swipe the screen, you must sweep over the character.

Yes. And easy to miss he is!

I managed to do the first 4 or 5 levels now - most of them with only one surviving figure.

Bought it. Had no trouble to make the little guys jump, just draw a slash on top of them.

So far, I've enjoyed the game. It feels like you have to do a lot of micro-management though, with good timing. Like manual lemmings.

I don't really like how it's touch-only. Couldn't you make it so that touch selects an item or guy, and then dpad can be used to move it around? (up to jump) Left hand for dpad and right hand for stylus, that could work.

Any new games coming up btw?

I also can't get the guy to jump. Maybe the sweep has to start at the guy?! No idea, in my opinion my sweeps go right through them and nothing happens. It looks really nice, and the in the videos it looks like a lot of fun, but I gave up at level 5, because I found it too frustrating to go on.

Just bought it, nice game ;)

For all those who can't get the guy to jump: Start your sweep on the guy. I had no trouble to get him to jump.

And also: It might be that you're not usually using the touch screen very much. I know I don't. In that case, it might be worth it to calibrate it before trying this. :D

@Steven I have the last firmware abd the drawing ofmy swip looks right. It's more like Gandi said, it seems very easy to miss the little guy. I will practice a little bit.

But anyway i like the game.

Yep, that nigh-impossible swipe (at least for me and some others) was what prevented me from playing the game as well.

It's very unforgiving, it seems it needs to be pixel-perfect.

Okay, the half price weekend sale is now over.

With regards to the swipe area, it is actually very large, you can either flick from the guy, or do a swipe that goes through the guy, there is a huge tolerance for error, so the problems being described sound rather odd to me, and are not something I am able to recreate. Perhaps someone with the issue could make a video of it so I can actually see the issue? If you are seeing the gesture trail in the right place and yet the guy still doesn't flick that does sound very much like a bug, but tricky to fix when I can't recreate. All the code to handle flicking the characters is generic and is used on iPhone, iPad, Android, WebOS Mobile, WebOS TouchPad, BlackBerry PlayBook, BlackBerry BB10, MacOSX, PC + others without these problems being reported which again is very odd. It is not that I don't believe people who say it doesn't work, it is just hard to know how to fix. For what it is worth I have completed KAMI RETRO on my Pandora.

@_wb_: it is difficult to use anything other than touch controls; in the earlier levels it would be easy to use joystick/DPAD, but on later levels you have to control multiple characters simultaneously which I fear would be possible without the touch control. With regards to other games, Paw Print Games has a few titles that could be brought over, but the one I really want to bring over (a full on 2D platforming games called Swashbuckler link here) has issues with the copyright holder. Swashbuckler plays rather nice with the Pandora controls.

when I played the game a few months ago I had no problem at all making the guy jump.

Maybe it's people's touch screen settings?

Hey.. could you consider making a video of you playing the game? I've tried to figure out the way to figure to play this and 70% of my swypes are missed..

Does it need to be near an edge.. does it need to stop before or after the dude?
