Is there a RAINE emulator for Pandora?

No, there isn't and most probably it will never be ported for the Pandora because Raine's romset is VERY similar to FBA's one. So, if you are looking for Guwange, ESP Ra.De. and other similar shmups, i must say they play perfectly on Final Burn Alpha.

Well, since Pandora apparently has a Linux environment, seems like maybe you ought to be able to run a regular PC build emu of RAINE on it, no?

I'm amateur-intermediate at this stuff, I have RAINE on my PC currently, It's the one and only emu I have to use PC for currently, and if I could make that run on Pandora, I'd be in heaven since I prefer handheld versus PC gaming. I'm just not comfortable in a desk chair ding PC gaming.

I'm smart enough to have managed the Dingoo, and even installing Dingux...but definitely a little help would be appreciated. Once I get my Pandora, I'll go from there.

There WAS one game from RAINE which I do not think works on FBA...at least not on the Dongoo...tt hangs the Dingoo...DoDonPachi!! and one other I really liked...I'll have to look at my list again and edit this, because I do not remember the name of it. Not one I play often, but another awesome example of thousand-bullet hell.

You can't grab PC binaries and run them on the OP, because it's not the same processor/architecture.

So it needs to be recompiled.

I also long for some games ;^).

We have a very recent fba. Dodonpachi should be runable if its from the right romset.

Also, looking at the Raine source, seems it's not ARM-friendly.

Ohhhhh, kay. See you're talking with someone just smart enough to do this stuff, to put it on and play...not a coder...lol. I could not code my way out of a paper bag. I'm sort of like - on a coding/computer level...the person who knows how to put in gas and go...and who can do a few things if they find the right instruction manual. Not really sure what ARM-friendly means...but I assume that means it would not be easy to port to this system. Recompiled? Like what they talk about on the main RAINE page?? Or is there something else? I'm just very curious. I have a lot of FBA on the Dingoo, hopefully the romsets I have there will work with FBA on Pandora...or they can be updated. Will have to see.

The Pandora uses an Arm processor the Arm processor 'speaks a different language' to x86 processors which Raine was made to run on. To run Raine on Pandora it would have to be more or less rewritten from scratch.

DoDonPachi is awesome, from my experience the PS1 port runs perfectly on PCSX ReARMed.

Does that emulate PS1? And does it run on Pandora? That would be cool if it does. I might manage to play Dragon Warrior 7.

PSX/PS1 does run on the Pandora... you'll find most 8bit systems through some 32 bit systems on here as well. A good many N64 games run surprisingly well, though there are plenty that you won't be able to run either. There are a lot of Arcade emulation options, Amiga/DOS is brilliant with the built in keyboard.

We may see Dreamcast emulation come along some day... but don't hold your breath. Other hopefuls include Nintendo DS emulation which while technically possible would require a dedicated developer or team to pull off. There is some interest in PSP emulation, but this is probably far less likely than DS and way more costly to pull off.

Systems you won't see working are Gamecube/XBox/PS2 or anything later. Most PC games around the mid 90's and later won't work either... but there are exceptions as people do port this software to the Pandora from time to time.

If anything there is plenty to play with and keep you busy for a lifetime with what is on offer at this point...

Being as I am basically an old-schooler anyway, there isn't much that isn't on Pandora already that I'd actually want, it seems.

Although you piqued my interest with re: a DS emu. I am wondering how you'd pull that off seeing as Pandora has only one screen.
