Turned out to be a lot smaller than I thoght it'd be. When I first got my GP32 the scene was nice and tight. Still rather active, but not incredibly big. But then everything kind of erupted and the scene blew up to grand proportions. The GP32 scene became a huge monster. I was expecting something similar when I finally got my MKII GP2X, but it seems that the scene is rather lackluster. Not very lively with few focal points.
I disagree.
There has been loads released recently. And plus there are 2 competitions on right now.
GP2X demo competition:

The official game and application competition:

Both of these have very large prizes. I would be very surprised if developers were not hiding away and working on them rather than releasing right now.
And then there is the work on creating a 3D engine going on by quite a few developers:

So basically I don't really understand how you can think the scene is lackluster, even with the large ammount of competitions on right now, we still have a quite steady flow of programs.
Well, I'm comparing it to the GP32 scene, which had contests seemingly going on all the time, and the excitement came in the last few days or so of the competition (So, there being two competitions running right now does nothing for me). The 3D engine seems like a cool idea, but I fear that it'll have the same fate as that other GP32 3D engine that was developed (And barely used, if at all).
I guess it might also be a lack of interest in new programs:
Palmtop environment = Cool idea, but seems more like a gimmick or a trick to just mess around
GP2X11 = Uh, I don't know what to do with this...
PSX4GP2X = I get exited with each news update, yet I realize that it's kind of a pipe dream in terms of any games that aren't strictly 2D
Sokoban = Played the PC version, pretty fun, reminds me of PerfectFit for the GP32, but at this time I'm still looking for more commercial quality games to play
Hu6280 1.03 = Only so exciting after coming from GPEngine on the GP32
Gngeo2x = Really only interested in speed improvements and fixing all that region crap
Kurukuru2x = Not interested
Smashgp2x = Played the GP32 version when it was first released, didn't like it, not interested
Jurlx2 V0.1 = Not interested;
Gp2x Energysaver = Batteries are just fine
Bobtron = Not interested
I don't know, I just don't personally see anything that I'm really interested in or looking forward to (That isn't really far away, like the official competition). I'm actually quite disappointed that I'm not using my GP2X as much as I wanted to when I got it (I've had it for a week and a half and I've used it for <5 hours).
