Ips screen replacement

Hi everyone, so anyways is there a ips replacement screen for the gp32? Just wondering thanks and have a great day.

Probably not. The screen is fine for what it is. Not every handheld device can be modded for IPS.

The first GP32 units had a Samsung display. But around the time when GamePark started releasing it globally Samsung stopped making those displays. So, apparently they switched to some unknown-brand Taiwanese display for the BLU+ which wasn't compatible with the original GP32 display causing some compatibility issues for games. If your display died, the easiest way to replace it is with a donor. But those donors need to have the same display type as the GP32 you want to fix.
It would have made some sense that there was an alternative display available for this reason, but I guess the IPS-replacements trend is relatively new and GP32 missed the boat on that one.

In the case you're the adventurous type, and good with driving displays, you might be able to get something like a LQ035NC111 working. It would require designing a converter board to route GP32 display signals. It would reduce your BLU power consumption a bit and improve your display quality.

Sounds like you want everything handed to you without doing the research yourself. What exactly is wrong with your unit?

Well. The screen has some black damages on it and it's cracked.

Because the GP32 came in different flavors you'll need to know which type of unit you have (FLU, BLU, BLU+).
I doubt there is any repair option available, but if you find a matching donor unit you might be able to switch the screens. Alternatively you might find a complete working unit, but in that case you'll still have a defective unit to.
Finding any unit, for a decent prince, will be difficult I think.

Mine is the blu+ btw. I hope to gawd someone or ai makes a ips screen that works with all of the gp32 versions.

For a Gameboy which was sold a million times that could happen, but the GP32 was already sold is relatively small amounts compared to a Gameboy and it already used multiple screens.
Maybe searching a Korean e-bay equivalent might yield some results?
