Hy there,

I've got some trouble with my OS on SD-Card.(SZ 1.70 RC)

It's booting up to the login screen.

After entering the (correct!) user name and possword it's returning back to the login screen.

(I can get a short glimpse of a terminal window).

It has been happening shortly (but not immediately) after updating to 1.70 RC via "Upgrade Pandora OS")

Any ideas on how this can be resolved?

Or du have to setup a new SD card?

(Upgrades on the NAND worked flawlessly - i'm on 1.71 there)

Thanks!

This can happen when Slim (the login manager) is configured to use consolekit, but the consolekit daemon or dbus is not running. It happens to me every time i install a system, because i always forget to start it^^ .
But that is just a random guess. Post the contents of /var/log/slim.log (i hope thats the right location on the Open Pandora) for more information.

Was Pandora Update via opkg safe to do from sdcard?

You could just reinstall your sdcardsystem if nothing else helps.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I will take a look when I'm back home and find some time...

The Upgrade was apparently working.

I even did 2 or 3 successfull reboots before this started to happen...

I also experienced this with slim on a debian install once, because for some reason it didn't like my home folder to be on a seperate partition. Do you have several partitions on the sdcard in question? Or maybe for some reason the home folder has not been setup correctly? Also ~/.xinitrc is normally used to set up sessions, so you might want to have a look in there and /var/log/slim.log to find out what went wrong.
