I'd decided on something else until I read about the Smartisan T1 (yes really) think I may just wait a while & see what the reviews are saying about it.

What do you guys reckon?

I'd suggest you avoid that phone and go with something common, more reliable and greater warranty conditions.. iPhone, Google Nexus or Samsung Galaxy phones.

Personally I use an iPhone and i'm very happy with it, the support is great and the 5S is extremely fast for what it is.

I use a Galaxy & like the drag & drop aspect for video, PDF and any other type of file I want to view.

I rip DVD's to MKV stick them straight on my phone & they play fine.

When plugged into a pc the phone & memory card show up as drives which can be manipulated as any other drive.

nice,

the best feature is securing the backcover with 2 screws! I'm serious!

The UI is funny too, but I would need Cyanogenmod or AOKP on it.

edit:

Googl's project Ara is something I'm looking forward to. Instead of one team taking up the huge challange of building an open hardware phone, differend people or groups could build different open hardware modules. You'll be able to customise the modules using 3D printing yeY ; )

For something that is a bit better at what you already had in mind, the huawei p7 is something to look at.

You get annoyed by flashy launchers after a while, same goes for the player idea.

All about the M8, then you can get the Dot Case for some glorious pixels

Still think if you like a camera and sound quality on your phone, you can't beat the M7/M8 phones
