Which IDE is the best to use for GP2X development?
Correct this is for windows. I guess I will give codeblocks a try. I am a beginner as in the only code I have ever written was in html.yaustar posted on Jul 6 2006 at 01:08 PM said:oooo. Tough question and is heavily based on opinion.
Dev Cpp will definitely be the easiest out of the three main ones to set up and use for beginners (it also helps that GPH released a SDK with it pre setup).
VC++ EE is by far the most powerful and feature rich for development but is a large download (around 200-500mb).
Codeblocks (Nightly builds) is a medium between the two. Lightweight but boasts many features and is what I am currently using.
Edit: I am assuming this is for Windows.
Visual Studio gets my vote.whiskthecat posted on Jul 6 2006 at 08:24 PM said:Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition
Thanks for all the help yauster. I may become a coder yet.yaustar posted on Jul 6 2006 at 01:08 PM said:oooo. Tough question and is heavily based on opinion.

What version do you have ? dev-cpp 4.9.9.2 supports tabbing of multiple selected lines. It also supports column selection which can also be tabbed.Daid posted on Jul 6 2006 at 11:18 PM said:Ohnoo it's the modern version of the vi vs emacs topic!
I'm using dev-cpp, mainly because it's already setup. They major problem I find with it is that it cannot do block tabs (select a part of text and tab/untab it) can the other IDEs do that? (was planning to look at codeblocks but haven't had the time yet)
