I have the following

A bricked F200(B) (black screen, blue power light only)
A cradle
A 9 pin serial cable
A 24 pin parallel cable

Where do I get JTAG Software and the firmware 4.0.0. from?

Then what the hell do I do with it? Do I need to use the GP2XRecovery.exe and if so is there a version for the F200 or do any versions work?

Cheers

no idea if it works with an F200, you should only need to use the images for the F200 instead, but the rest should be the same.

BTW: you'll need a male-male paralle port (DB25) cable to conect the cradle to the pc. It took me long to find one (like 3 weeks) so if you don't have one that should be the worst of your problems (or you could try making your own)

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know where I can download FW 4.0.0 for the F200( B ) from, the link on that wiki page does not work (404).

All the firmwares can be downloaded from here: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/gp2x.cgi

Just make sure you use the right one for your model. (I think you need the '4.0.2' one for your F200 B, the '4.0.0' one is for the older F200 not the B model)

Good luck, Neil

Thanks for the help guys I have it working again. First I used GP2XRecovery.exe to unbrick the thing. Previously I had a dead screen and just the blue power light. Next I tried with every firmware there was but nothing worked. This was whilst trying to flash a new image with the GP2X still in it's cradle. Then I tried with it out and it worked.

However despite having a F200(B) the firmware that worked was 4.0.0. I then upgraded to 4.1.0 and then 4.1.1. At each stage the touch screen worked fine.
