How Much Overclock Is Too Much?

I tried 900 mHz on pocketsnes for LoZ: A link to the past/four swords

Something strange happened, the Wiz froze up and the frame numbers remained. I tried turning the unit off, and instead of shutting off the two numbers faded out.

Okay, I am not freaking out, I don't think I did any major damage other than just a little more "wear and tear." :) I am concerned about the freeze and fading of the numbers, but the unit is working well otherwise.

Anyway, I am wondering what "too much" might be.

If you go too far it will just crash. There is no evidence posted here that any arm cpu will die with too much overclock.

To damage the device you need to over volt the processor not just over clock it, and the former isn't possible in software on the Wiz.

What's the highest you can safely overclock with Wiz without losing stability?
I could only really get 233/250 Mhz out of my old GP2X F100.

Around 760-780 is stable for me. I've crashed at around 795 or 800Mhz, though some people have achieved 800Mhz without crashing.
