How Do I Run Dosbox Via Ginge?

I'm trying to run DosBox through Ginge on my Caanoo, but receive what seems to be a command prompt. I know there is a GP2X wiki, but that didn't help.

The message is this:

${DIRGAME}

Using Wiz version .70.4 (or something similar), that message appears for a second and rests to the GP2X menu.
If I use the GP2X version of DosBox, the message stays on the screen and will not allow me to exit.

My files:

CrimeFighter.gpe
#! /bin/sh
DIRROOT=/mnt/sd/dosbox
DIRGAME=${DIRROOT}/CrimeFighter
${DIRROOT}/dosbox -conf ${DIRGAME}/dosbox.conf
exec /usr/gp2x/gp2xmenu

I realize that the Caanoo has a different keyset, but that shouldn't stop it from running. After configuring the three required files, I managed to find a sample zip file with everything preconfigured, but that did not work either.

I'm trying to run CrimeFighter, Oregon Trail and Wasteland (mostly CrimeFighter).
