I have finished my 3 month project on making a psp(well hacked up playstation parts put together), I have done it it took three used psx's to do it, sadly the lithium battery only last 2 hours(all because i want a big lcd :D ). I have but one problem its a mess of wires and boards and i have no idea how to make a decent case for it, any suggestions????. Although the lcd is i think 2.6-7-8 it still draws alot if power and plus i cant play my favorite game withought a magnafying glass for FF7, oh well.

Congratulations :D

Well, ive been working on a portable nes for a while, but i stopped when i realized the case-problem... I think not everyone has the opportunity to make a case like those Benjamin Heckendorn uses for his systems... You could try sawing plastic-parts of the used psx-cases and glue them together or something... hard work, but should be possible somehow. and if you leave the cd-drive open, i think it should be possible. Congrats again, do you have any pics? What screen did you use?

I'd kill for that... final fantasy goodness.... Can someone help me make that a reality I would be willing to put 400 bucks into it. Or even better a ps2 hand held...

That is really, really sweet. I want one so bad...

Is it just me or did handhelds suddenly become incredible.

Yeah, I would really like to see pictures of this. Make sure you stick a piece of paper in the pic that says "G32x.com" so we know the pictures are current!

With regards to making cases, you can buy a lot of cool looking 'boxes' from places like Maplin and Radio Shack. Maybe adapting something like that? Or if you were a bit of a retro, wooden cabinet type person, how about buying a nice block of beautifully grained wood and using a router, drill and a lot of sandpaper to carve yourself a custom wood finish box? Also, if you were willing to spend a bit you could build a mock up of the two halves of the case out of clay or some soft, easy to work wood, then take your prototype to either a panel beaters or somewhere with a plastic vacuum former. Then they could create positive images from your prototype to use as the case.

hey i put a post in here, where did it go?!
Your post was redundant. You said the same thing was done on a site that had tons of other handhelds like it - that site was linked in the second post of this topic already. Bleh.
