Help!

I have a 80GB external hard drive and i wanted to install Ubuntu on it i did but the MBR on the internal got damaged i fixed that but now windows will not reconze the external drive in my computer only in device manger it is shown

It's weird. Only last week, the EXACT SAME THING happened to me. I haven't managed to fix it yet also, so any solutions will be greatly recied

Windoze will only recognize the drive if its formatted in FAT(32) or NTFS.
so if i use the live cd with the external connected it will recognize it

I think so, but you would have to mount the drive first. Or you could use some partition manager tool to format your external HDD.
I fixed it thanks.
I used the live cd and when into g-pated unmounted the drive and formatted it into NTFS :rolleyes:
