i cant install drivers and my pc will not reconize gp32, also i keep getting a message when i use pc like cant open usb port. please help me i wan t to play on my gp32

The first thing to do would be to find out whether that USB port that you are trying works. Do you have any other USB devices and have you tried to use them on that port?

Also, when you tried to install the drivers, what happened? Your PC will not recognise the GP32 until they have been installed. You can do this by having your GP32 plugged in and turned on and then going to your control panel. From there, choose 'Add hardware' and a wizard will probably start that will find the new device and ask where the drivers are for it.

I have the same problem...
Once the GP32 plugged and switched on, Windows try to install an generic USB driver without asking wich one i want to install...
Event after trying to re-install it manually, it says "no device information found on this driver".

The only trick i've found is :

1) Right click on the .inf (GP32 driver's)
2) Click on "Install"
3) Plug your GP32
4) Switch it on
5) While the window "new device found" pop up, switch off the gp32, then re-switch it on .
6) close the "new device found" window
7) check in the task bar if your GP32 was correctly detected.
8) Enjoy

I know its silly but did u restart the system after the first install???

Mine was unreconzed at first but after manually installing (I changed the gp32 to the secondary usb port) and restarting the problem did not occur...

Might be worth DL the linker to make sure its not the file????

I assume you are making sure that you are in the PC Link part before connecting to the PC and trying to install the drivers/etc ?

Windows can be very picky unless your GP32 is in this mode

I have the same problem - I haven't used my GP32 in a while (for shame) but I'm going away next week and always take my trusty GamePark along for games and music en route. I've upgraded to Windows XP since I last connected the little marvel, and now I've reinstalled the PCLink software, it can't open the USB port. It's a port I use for all my non-modem peripherals, so I know its the drivers not the connection.

Trouble is, its been so long since I used the thing (and even longer since I had to do all the installation stuff) that I have no idea where these drivers should be. I've kept a folder of "essential GP32 files" but I don't think it's anything in there. Shouldn't they install with the PCLink program?

Any help greatly appreciated, as while my GP32 still works, there's some crap on the SMC that I'd like to clean off and replace with some new games.

Ignore me. Crazily, I had a rummage in the FAQs and found a link HERE for a homebrew USB driver that's solved my problem in a jiffy. Maybe some of you other troubled souls can find salvation with it too?
