Its the only other machine I'm interested in emulating
Ok, its limited knowlege time. Without delving too much into history of computers, talking about speed etc. The original question was sensible. Is it possible to emulate the amiga. The answer we can say is probably, I think the UAE is a C core and fast. It must be noted however that one of the reasons why the amiga was able to look so wonderful for the time, all the tricks done by, specialist chips.
As far as emulation being likely signs point to good, with a few exception, most *popular* consoles/ computers have been emulated already with just a few exceptions. If someone was to have a go *Amiga* is an obvious choice, How good that emulation will be will be upto the programmer, and his knowledge of the hardware.
The chip inside the new GPX2 is clearly a better chip than the GP32 in many ways, It will take some time for people(not me). to get used to it, and figure how to get the most out of the hardware, and I suspect most developers will be preoccupied in moving their current emulators over to the GPX2 and updating them much like happened with blu+. So I suspect its not top priority, but if you search through the boards there is quite clearly an interest in it.
The main selling point at the moment of the GPX2 at the moment is watching the new stuff happen having a GPX2 from 2005/2006 will be an exiting time, and amiga emulation could well be part of that.
Although It would be sensible if as one of the emulators offered out of the box, was one not already emulated on the GP32. That way GPH are giving the GPX2 value out of the box.
