Hey all, first post -

Condsidering buying a GP2X, but I've got a couple of questions;

1) Can it read GP32 file types? - FXE etc.

2) Can it be modded/overclocked to run at a higher speeds?

Answer greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Snagzy

1) no, unless someone decides to make a gp32 emulater, which i reckon is unlikely

2) yeah it can be overclocked w/o modding. 266Mhz is max, i think

It can't run GP32 files, but as you will have seen most of the big programs are already being ported over.

All units should goto around 250mhz out the box.

Some will goto 300mhz.

Excellent, great and fast reply, thanks guys!

:D Heh', I'm just waiting on my paycheck, then I'll send off the cheque for my new child... The GP2x! XD

xP I know this might sound like a ... Madman question.. But once I get it, like with the GP32 mod, would it be possible to dismantle and paint the case? :D

Thanks,
Snagzy

I think it should be, but I really like the way it looks now and don't want to risk breaking anything so I haven't tried.

Hm, My vision was to spray a custom template over it. I'm the sad kind of guy that names his consoles. (My Ngage is called Trinity.) XD

Nah, I thought some like.. Psychadelic paint job was in order :P It's a rather snazzy default design though, do I say so myself.

argh no way!

The gp2x looks great in black.

please, do not paint is psycadelic!!!!

:P

I hate to have something that's the same as everyone elses. I even painted my Ngage sunshine yellow XD

ooh, I've had an idea. I'll keep it black but spray templated items on the back of it in a headache-inducing yellow :D

;Hides his face in shame.;

Anyways. Some kinda hippyish design would rock o.o

Put a (PSP) sticker on the back over the battery bulge! That's what I'll do when I'll buy mine!

Man, I cant wait to get my hands on this thing.. Like, one month till my birthday. Lots of money!! Man, I cant wait XD ;Hops in excitement;

I think custom casing would be pretty neat.
