Hi All,

fMSX is a famous emulator of the MSX, MSX2, and MSX2+ 8bit home computers.
It runs MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ software on many different platforms including Windows and Unix.
See http://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/ for further informations.

It has been first written by Marat Fayzullin, and later Vincent van Dam ported it on SDL.

GP2X-MSX is a port on GP2X of the version 2.7.0.40 of fMSX-SDL
from Vincent van Dam that i had previously ported to PSP.

What's new in this version :

- Improve speed
- Improve emulation accuracy
- New render mode
- New default keyboard mapping
- Add MMU hack stuff
- Add option to display frame rate
- New speed limiter function
- Improve volume handler
- Bug fix in file requester
- Add .mx1 and .mx2 file extention
- Linked with my patched version of

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

You can download it here :
GP2X-MSX v1.0.2

It's distributed under Marat Fayzullin's license for the original MSX part,
and under GNU license for all the GP2X part.

Enjoy,

Zx.

Thanks again for the hard work.
I will test this out when I get home today!

I get an error when I try to download this:

Software error:
DBD::mysql::st execute failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE id='5' at line 1 at cfiles.cgi line 140.

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (michi@gepixelt.de), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

ZX81 this emu is FANTASTIC, but can you resolve this problem?

What exactly is the syntax for making a *.kbd configuration? The example file mentioned in the readme doesn't seem to actually be included in the archive.
Ooops, you're right ... here is an example (it's a text file) :

@DARKGATE: Yes you're right, i just can't understand why it happens on the gp2x version but not on the psp version. I have to spend time on it ... may be in the next version.

Thanks, chief. Do you see yourself including user contributed configurations in the distro or is that beyond the scope of this? It'd be nice to compile them all somewhere. Maybe wiki.gp2x.org?

While volume is easier to control, the max 100 is devastatingly quiet. Unless the speakers are right up to my ear, I don't even know if sound is enabled or not. 45fps on Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake though, which is awesome.

Big plus, this is easier to use than most PC MSX emulators.

I've found the problem, it's fixed now in the version 1.0.3 :D

You can load .dsk file using the Load Disk option ... What's the game you try to load ? What's the error you got ?

I'm not sure, but I think Miika is trying to say he has a load of dsk files he wants to play.
