Hi,

well, it was time, wasn't it?
I opened up a gp2x - MK2 (which is better built than the old version, even has a completely new headphone port with golden contacts!) and took a few HiRes-pictures for you guys :)

As usual, get them here at the gp2x File Archive :)

Enjoy :)

Cool! Good to see the inside without having to crack it open :)

im going to be buying a gp2x mk2 next week. I found my old battle torn gp32 last week and have been playing my old SMCs since. I used to be on these forums a ton and i see its still a great place for info as usual :D

cant wait to get my hands on the 2X

i checked out some of the emus and it all lookin very sexy

I'm almost regretting having bought a GP2X before the MK2 was even thought of XD;

Hopefully my GP2X won't break down or anything like that. I still like it, and I'm used to the diagnol bias already.

i see no point in getting a Mk2 when i already got a Gp2x =)
or is there a reason?

Well, I have plenty of MK2 lying around but are still using my MK1.
Why? I like the display better. I love the scanlines. I hated them at first, but with FW 2.0.0, you can reduce them to a minimum - and that minimum is just enough to make the emulators more realistic.
But that's my opinion - some like the MK2 better, some the MK1.

The stick is no prob with the new cap - and even though the MK1 is not as stable built as the MK2, there's no prob to FIX it to be more stable. Did this with a lot of First Editions, and they're all running fine :)

and i think those Gp2xstamped-caps you send me still aren't that good xD
it just feels loose :-s

After owning a GP32 BLU for years (with its perfect screen), I find the MK2's viewable range is very small. And I find that I have to tilt it upwards in a really strange way to get the real color, but I don't know. If there's nothing wrong with your earlier model, why upgrade?

This I can testify to.

Only problem now is, that I can see my face reflected from the screen... Maybe Icould get rid of it...

My face. :p

Nice, looks like the build quality of the whole machine went up. Is this still the same factory that built the MK1 Second Edition? I know First Edition was a different factory (hence the terrible job they did..)

How do you like handling of rotated stick?
(if you could compare directly to the MK1)

I came to a solution for that, a warm glue-gun, and a very very small amount of it, just in the hole, don't spill over the edge, then put the cap on, leave for 5 mins to cool, and voila, it's tight, and, after 30 mins, can still be removed adds an edge of firmness.

They are all built at the radix factory, the improvement is just a result of the gp2x generating money and there being more to spend on development, thus things get better and better. I'm really pleased with the MK2.
