As the topic title suggests, this thread is for recounting our amusing gaming moments.

One of my favourites was back in 1999, when Aliens Versus Predator was released for Microsoft Windows. Myself and a relative had been playing it on the household computer over the course of a weekend, and we left it one afternoon with the intent of picking it up again the next day.

When we went back to play the game again, unknown to us somebody else had been using the machine in the meantime, and had left a CD of old music in the disc drive. Aliens Versus Predator apparently wasn't picky about the disc in the drive not being its own, and soon enough we were faced with an alien running towards us at top speed, to the following tune;

To this day, I can think of few things more terrifying (or more hilarious) than a Xenomorph hurtling at you accompanied by "When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother what will I be?".

Anyone else?

Sometimes when I play Half-Life I like to take my weapons and either shoot the scientists or blow myself up. That always gets a laugh out of me.

Nope, I still don't know the guy, but thanks for clarifying what "COD4" is - calling it that makes it sounds like a fishing game, to be honest.

I'm guessing nobody else has any amusing tales to share, then?

i broke a chair once cause i pulled a special move in one of the WWF games on the n64, did the x-factor by x-pac, and as i hit it, i jumped up and back down onto chair, causing it to snap...i think thats the best i got

I bought a Dreamcast last year off ebay with a buttload of games. I had been playing Record of Lodoss War for a few days. A friend of mine stopped over after work for a few beers. He plays World of Warcraft. I do not. So I start giving him a bunch of crap and I'm getting all cocky ready to show off my sweet Dreamcast system. I said something like "You and your stupid WOW, this is all I need right here". As I grab the remote I notice I had left the Dreamcast on. I never do that. So I switch over to the Dreamcast and the screen is just a garbled mess. Apparently it had overheated or something. Well, he thought that was the funniest damned thing he'd ever seen. He was on the floor rolling. Guess it serves me right for trying to gloat. It's not like he was going to be impressed anyway. He has no appreciation for retro gaming.

Maybe not my funniest gaming moment, but certainly his. Actually maybe it's mine too as I am cracking up writing about it now.

My funniest gaming moment was at a LAN party, involves a chair and a pair of friends.

It was at the end of a 24h lan party, most of the people had already gone back.

So a friend started to play a rally game on his computer and we came to watch.

We sat down on each of his sides and when he jumped on a bump in-game we took the chair's feets and lifted him a bit.

We continued to make the "human force feedback chair", we even took turn to play.

It was really funny, but the funniest moment was to come!

On my turn they where really over-exaggerating the moves, so we were laughing a lot till we heard a metallic noise.

I nearly fell from the chair, got back on my feet pretty fast… the chair was broken, some welding points were "ripped".

After a few second of stupor we all bursted out in laugh

I remember playing Dungeon Master on the Amiga with a friend one afternoon, we were using a guide so we were expecting to come across the dragon for the first time. Still, you could heard the heart-beat like foot steps of it as it moved around, but we were completely unprepared when it popped directly in front of me, it was HUGE. We looked at each other with our eyebrows raised, and then both of us went 'AAAAAAAAAARGH'.

It seems ridiculous now when you look back at it.

oh and i was crying while laughing trying/watching videos to QWOP

I'm sure you've heard about Amnesia: The dark descent. And seen couple of "top 10 scares" videoes on youtube.

Well, me and my friends were playing this together at a LAN-party, and we all played through it together.

The funniest part of that night was when we all at the same time, picked up a rod, and heard a wierd roar. That shit scared the hell out of us!

And at that precise moment as that happened, my friends 10 year old sister came in and asked what we were doing, and we just screamed!

I screamed, so did my friends, and we made a 10 year old girl cry.

Awesome night!

PS: Is there any games like Amnesia? I like scary games like were I stare at a dark ally and thinking "Okey, man up!". And I've also played the Penumbra-series :p

I had an amusing incident while playing the rather excellent Fantasy Online last night on the Pandora.

This character comes over to me and says "Where did you get that armor?"

I replied "From a vendor NE of here."

A minute or two later he asked me "What did the vendor look like"

I replied "I don't know, he's only 3mm high on my screen." which caused minor hilarity on the server.

The BEST funny thing just slipped from my mind as the reply page was loading...ah well.

Next best thing.

Running through Super Mario Brothers I, in Super Mario All-Stars on SNES (real cart/hardware), and doing great, few of my friends that were over were cheering me on, and I was on a high level, then I fall down a hole like a noob. It still makes me laugh thinking about it, to this day(I can laugh since I had like 50 lives XD. Acquired legit). I guess I can't explain it well enough to many any of you laugh though :( .

I was playing god of war on the ps2.A marathon 5 am late night gaming session. The volume was cranked up to the top.Suddenly i heard a knock on the window.I was surprised to see two policemen outside.I was living in a rented house

which was attatched to another house.Wafer thin walls i guess.I thought it was hilarious. When the cops saw one guy playing a ps2 as opposed to a late night party they lightened up.I had been playing for about 7 hours at that point.

I went to bed finally.God of war is one of my all time favourite games.

Being eaten by a zombie alligator in Resident Evil 3: Mercenaries mode while I was listening to Jesus Christ Superstar, in particular the part where the roman soldier is screaming DIE! DIE! DIE!

Playing as a medic in Team Fortress Classic in friendly fire servers as a medic... and as I'm healing someone I'm cooking off a grenade...

I have fond memories of Gravity Force II on the Amiga - multiplayer on one screen, my mate and I both battling to race around the courses and of course shoot eachother. One tactic was to wait on a platform for the other guy to come around, and then shoot the shit out of him. My mate tried that one, but managed to get his ship turned around, pointing at the platform and then shot himself. His comment:

"ah, bugger, I've blown myself off"

Chortle.
