I've been bothered about the NES emulators for a while where they aren't fullscreen.

Is anyone looking into porting something which takes advantage of the entire display?

I always thought Mario was fat enough without him being stretched even further.. I guess some people just like him fat.

^ But Princess Peach looked more like a Picasso painting, in the first game.

Alternatively, (as one who can't stand incorrect aspect ratios) what about an option to use the spare screen area to display a period-accurate TV surround? Win-win. Entire screen gets used, aspect ratio remains faithful, Mario doesn't need a gastric band.

I don't get the mentality of "fill up the whole screen by stretching the picture". I mean, you distort the picture, making it look like shit, because you can't stand not every single individual pixel being used? It sounds absolutely silly to me.

I can't change the mapping to the normal A and B buttons ..

Isn't it possible to add fullscreen support to gpfce ? I really like the emulator but I can't strech..

I tried the Streak version. Way too slow for me even at 800mhz :-) because it doesnt do OpenGL rendering on the fly. Shouldn't be too hard of a port to gles as there's only two or three gl functions . I've got some of it done but I need help decoding it as gl is new to me :-)

Dont expect it to help to much, drawing the screen buffer as a texture may not be much faster and even could be slower.
