All! Whilst I'm waiting for my unit to arrive I wonder if anyone else has tackled the unofficial Linux port for it?

For all I know there could be some heavy x86 code in there, so I'm starting to wonder about the win version on qemu now...

Really can't wait for mine to turn up, so I'm trying to get my kicks this way :D

I gave the GL version a go ages back, but never got very far. That is, I got it compiled & running but only a blank screen...

Was that the actual linux version? Going through it, it really is mostly assembler :( . Looks like the directx or sdl version in qemu to try it out properly. (or Dos version in dosbox I guess).

:) well at least there's always oolite! qemu/dosbox should play the original well enough as well so at least I'll get to enjoy it again!

Wasn't there a port of Frontier for the GP2X? Was that ever ported across to the Pandora?

I believe that was glfrontier, which was the Atari-ST version under a "kind-of-emulation" - the game logic was emulated, but the graphics and sound were trapped and replaced with native routines. It ran quite well iirc, but unfortunately it was the ST version which was pants. Very primitive graphics compared to other versions - flat polygons, no textures at all. Most disappointing, but then I suppose it was the most feasible version to port that way, as the 68k is well emulated at a reasonable speed.

As for frontier - no, not going to happen unless all that asm is translated to C or ARM.

D.

Although I have a GP2x, that was a game I never tried on it, I remember it from my Miggy days, I thought there were loads of keys to use on the original, so I never tried the port!

Just in case, I have to ask... does anybody have the jjffe dos binaries? Either of them?

The site is down at the moment and I only have the windows ones, the original game hates dosbox and seems a waste getting a qemu image up for the win binaries I have...

I have the source code as well but gcc 4 hates the bloody thing lol
