I am really confused some poeple say the scan lines on the gp2x are from the firm ware others say its because its first verion of gp2x basicly i would like to know if it will ever be fixable for the gp2x i got now... not the one coming out is it firm ware problem... idk i feel like i am getting mixed responses when some one says something about it... really thought does any one know for sure?

Do you have one? If so, fire up DrMDx, without running the LCD tweak ... notice the crisp, flicker-free screen?

I'm no coder or HW guru, but after seeing the results, I'm convinced it's a Software/firmware issue ... not hardware.

The LCD/CPU tweeker can make them go away, pretty much completely if you mess around a bit.

My first edition GP2X (one of the original 500 shipped in Korea) did not have scanlines at first. They were something that were adder in with firmware 1.1 or 1.01 I believe. DrMDx does show the scanlines (very noticeably on the rom select screen). Hopefully at some point we will see a return to the crisp, clear, scanline free screen of the version 1.00 firmware.

Well according to this picture:

A scanline free GP2X is possible. I wouldnt worry about it, it should be fixed.

I don't think I'll be trying that. The babelfish translation makes it sound like its just a script to alter the boot files and load lcd tweaker on launch.

mmm this flicking is pants, the display on my gp32 better why is the display interlaced?

ive actually now got a headache from it, its more noticeable one the part of the eye that isnt focused in a certain area ie if im looking at the top middle everything other than the top middle is flickering, didnt get theat with my gp32 or zodiac
