Fat32 Or Fat

It was reformatted before I posted this message.I cant use any of those cause i cant get the free launcher to work. And my first reformat was a fat32.would the screw the whole card up.

hmm i formatted with fat32 once under windows, too, but somehow i've gotten it to work again (all the stuff on it was then lost, of course)..

maybe theres a way to format under FAT with windows somehow... maybe some tools... i think other guys here can you help you out with this...

however, i think after i screw up my card, i think i launched pacrom from the multifirmware and repaired the smc or smth... dunno...

I have the option to reformat under FAT on windows.
After i reformat I have no idea what to di though?

What firmware do you use?

Oh, and I think both windows fat format standards dont`t work, because the gp32 needs a special fat type... so you definately have to format it with your gp32...

What brings me to a new idea: It has to be possible to write a prog for windows, that formats your smc in the right way, maybe there is already something like that...

wasn't it some special fat-type? I remember something like fat-8 or so. Only the GP32 can format cards that way (or some linux-tool as always, but I don't know about that).

Fat 12, if in doubt, format from within the software provided by gamepark. (Although I also formatted through my card reader and it worked fine.)

It is FAT16, but something special regarding the partition table, from what i've read. FAT12 can address only 4mb.

Depends FAT12 can read up to 16mb, FAT12B 64MB. After that FAT16. I don't think the GP supports fat 32 like other machines do. Really though, you should not need to know, format with the GPfilemanger, and all should be well.

Yesterday, i accidentally formatted my smc with windows xp, and i was like crazy searching a way to reformat it correctly.
Tried with linux and... it got worse, my card become unreadable for the reader (an hp photosmart 7755 with multi card reader) and the console.
I tought the card was unrecoverable, but... miracles exist, try using smc manager, i downloaded from http://www.gp32spain.com/archivos.php?tipo...alles&numero=30 and tried it thinking that it will do the same as pclink or gpmanager, nothing at all, but hey, it formatted the card.
I think it doesn't need to read the card to use it like pclink or gpmanager, or something like that, it just... formatted the card

The user manual says it's FAT12, though that maybe wrong... (darkfader writes on his site that it's FAT12, too)
