windowsME wont boot anymore. all it does is beep. blank screen. nothing else.
this is what happened:
I was playing Madness Interactive and decided to use my sound system instead of my headphones (i usually use my headphones for everything). My sound system is pretty old, but its pretty loud. So I go into experiment mode and tweak my equalizer so that the gunshots sound real (hehehe...). After about 15 mins playing with my stereo bouncing my hardware around in the case, i quit the game and click the start menu. i am greeted by the blue screen of death. I reboot, and all i get is a blank screen.
i had an old w98 boot disk lying around, i popped it in and it worked. so...
A:\>C:
C:\>cd WINDOWS
C:\WINDOWS\>dir
It gets to the Ss and then:
Error reading drive C.
Abort, Retry, Fail?
The only thing i can think of that did this is my subwoofer, which sits next to my comp(im going to change that though). So far, i think all thats damaged is the windows directory. i can still run DOS games.
Im going to try reinstalling winblows.
