Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring to you the most addictive game i've ever played.

http://nagoya.cool.ne.jp/o_mega/product/e2.html

The basis of the game is as follows.

You control a spiked object, and blocks start to appear on the screen. The only controls that are used, are your arrows keys and 'Z'. The arrow keys move the object around the screen and the Z key detonates you. When you detonate you create a shockwave, and any blocks that are caught within the shockwave explode in the same way you do, eg causing the shockwave, and starting off a chain. The bigger the chain of explosions, the bigger the score you get.

You can only explode yourself a finate amount of times. You start off with 12, but it's possible to extend this number with huge scores (Hence the title of the game, Every Extend.)

If you run your object into a block without detonating, it uses up one of your stock and takes 5 seconds off the time limit.

There are 3 types of special block. The green block will drop a score item, which you run over to collect. If you chain together multiple green blocks and multiple items are dropped, pick them all up to start an item chain. Trust me, it takes skill to pick them all up without ramming into blocks later on. ;) The purple block drops a 'Quicken' powerup. This makes the blocks move faster. Necessary to score huge points. The odd grey square box (Only on Heavy mode) is a time delayed block. When caught in a shockwave, it charges for 3 - 5 seconds before exploding, continuing your chain.

It may seem complicated but that's just cause i'm shite at explaining things. Play it yourself and get hooked.

What's your record so far then?

1288590, 15 stock remaining, 47 Maximum Chain on Light mode. :)

Heavy mode is owning me at the moment.

The thing to remember, is always, ALWAYS to make purple blocks your priority. The more quicken blocks you've got, the easier it is to chain together due to the speed the blocks appear. :)

I've just read the english Readme file. It's got the most hilarious story i've ever seen.

One day suddenly, you receive 12 UCHU- guided bombs. What do you do?

No thank you. No increase so much!
Less time to play. Soon the game is over.so No thanks.
Therefore I can't use so much.
Oh, no more. To make a sortie, give me a turn. Here.
Why do you increase!? No more increse. No more!
I can't make full use. Too many! Too many! Give me a turn.
Ohhh! Ohh ! Why increase SO MORE? It becomes a terrible thing!
How many bombs!? No! No! I CAN'T USE!
Do you listen? No more! Why increase! NO! NO!
Who in the world use so many bombs! No more. Already enough!
Hey,PLEASE no increase! You listen!?
NO NO MORE! STOP STOP! No increase! It's enough!
STOP! STOP NOW! NO! NO! NO INCREASE! NO MORE!
What are you doing!? Increase,no increase,or WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?
HEY! Really what are you doing!? Soon it's overflow! Terrible!
NO MORE! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I can get 2.2 million+ on Heavy, with or without the secret boss (chaining Kw Motor is easier for me), consistently with max-chains between 60 and 75. Crazy people over at shmups.com are getting 112-chains and over 3 million, claiming that 4 million is possible.

*puts an Every Extend desktop icon in between rRootage and Parsec47*

That's my highest score so far on Light. I get even less on Heavy due to running out of stock.

A GP32 remake of this would be an absolute godsend.

TandeM, if you're using release 2, could you send me your replay file please? :D

I'd like to see how the hell you got that score.

Release 1 here...sorry.

Basically, get all the Quickens and Time Extends at ANY cost (sort of dying, of course) - infact, you should only be attacking the enemies that give up valuable items until you've got around 5 or more Quickens. Dropped items drift away in the direction the enemy was hit; always attack an enemy on the edge of the screen from behind, so that the items drift toward the center of the field. With 7 or 8 Quickens, chaining 30 to 70 on every attack should be a snap (abuse the black "delay" cubes, too - they can keep a chain alive as your ship respawns!) Try starting a chain from the left or right of the screen; it'll last longer than one that expands rapidly from dead center (attacking from the top/bottom is too risky - there's no time to get away when a string of cubes appears if you have a lot of Quickens) Be sure to collect the green cubes as well - get enough in a row, and it'll be worth more than even the biggest chains (20 green cubes are worth about 160,000, 30 is 360,000. You'd need roughly a 70- and 150-chain to match that!)

Fight the normal boss (Kw Motor) if you want an easy time. Stall for the best possible setup, and start the chain as far away from the boss as possible (letting it ramp up all the way before connecting), for a chain of 40 to 60 (120,000~180,000 per hit!) When the boss throws out 3 satellites, kill them invidually for a 10-second extend off each one. It's easily possible to get over a million points off the boss phase alone.

If you're feeling lucky (and have 1.2 million+ points/8 Quickens by the boss phase), you get the Judge: AB-A Hedron (quick nod to Kenta Cho there ;) ). It can only be damaged by a 20+ chain for the first hit, 25+ for the second, 30+ for the third, and 40+ for the final blow. After each hit you get a free 10-second extend, which is pretty handy considering how many time penalties you'll likely be incurring. On the first two hits, just wait until you've got a guaranteed hit set up before detonating - fail, and all cubes onscreen disappear, wasting even more time waiting for them to repopulate the screen. On the third hit, you can't (reliably) chain horizontally or diagonally - attack from either below or above the boss to get the required 30-chain. For the final attack, detonate just as the boss fires a string of cubes at you (not the first time - there probably won't be 40 cubes to chain right off the bat). If you've done all that, congratulations! Now realize that you were scoring more against (and having an easier time fighting) the Kw Motor. :p

Read the two Every Extend threads at the www.shmups.com forum (one in Shmups Chat, another in Hi-Scores) - people who are getting 3 million+ and chains of over 100 probably have much better strategies than I.

Addictive Game + Bad Programmer (me) = Bad Remake :)

Anyways, I'll try to make a remake for GP32, but it'll prolly be bad ;)

The music is damn sweet. :)

Guys, download Version 2 from that website as it automatically records your best performance. I'm gonna want to see replay files of any score that beats mine. :p

You'll get there eventually. :) Concentrate on getting the bigger chains on Light mode with as many quicken blocks as possible.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

I just saw 'The Judge' on Heavy mode for the first time. What are the conditions for meeting it?

I couldn't even destroy one form of it. :)
