I was just wondering since you can get an IR add-on for the GP32, do they make an email or web app for it? I used to use my Palm m105 with IR to mobile phone to do this.

Theres alot of shops thsat say the gp32 has internet capabilitties, But Game Park decided to give up.They never released it.I think it takes the piss as the gp32 would be my best thing i had if i had the internet.

There is not a chance of Linux ever being ported ,
A. How the heck r u gonna emulate the linux kernel with 133mhz of processor
B.Linux will only use hardware, i have never got it to work with a software modem
so software buffering would be hard
C.It would take far to much work for any 1 person to do....
D. have u ever booted linux it takes ages even on a 2ghz processor with 1 gig of ram..
E.A large part of linux is unix so unless the chatboard takes off....

Dear god, you really have no idea

A. It doesnt need to be emulated, there is ARM compatible linux source code available. Hell, you can run linux a PocketPC.

B. Bullshit

C. But most of the work has already been done!

D. Have you seen embedded linux boot on a handheld linux product? It takes a second.

E. No, linux is a clone of unix. A chatboard would of course be handy, but it wouldnt be a requirement.

Shut up until you have a clue.

Linux can run on small end palms and even linux watches prototypes have been made. Windows is as long as linux is to boot, you just have the windows fuzzy feeling with windows changing booting screens which simulate speedy boot. And if it is about KDE, KDE is slow as hell but there are other shells ;)
Nevertheless, the main problem is the filesystem, and it will surely be soon resolved.

I read somewhere that the GPi (the GP32 mobilephone that isnt released yet)
had Windows CE on it, but they changed it to Linux. The GPi has touchscreen,
so you wouldn't need a chatboard.

So I think that the GP32 can run linux and windows CE, but there has to be
a way go make usefull input. Maybe the text thinghy from windups ?

And a GPi is a mobilephone, so you would need a modem then.
The GP32 mightbe connected to a mobilephone to get on the internet/mail.

if found a interresting link:

Strange! My linux takes about 10 seconds to boot! :):p

As far as I know GP are still planning to make some kind of follow up to the GP32.

If it will ever be made in large amounts is a diffrent story.

And an SDK for the GPi exists which supports the screen etc. so you never know...
