Efficient Agenda and Organizer for the Pandora ?

An organizer / calendar application that synchronizes with some CalDAV server is something I've been missing on the Pandora from day one. Unfortunately the problem doesn't start with the Pandora itself - I haven't found a suitable application for Linux at all (porting Evolution or similar abominations doesn't really appeal to me).
never heard about caldav... I will look if I could add it....

Thanks. When I get my P I will check it out. I would prefer something that runs native on Angstrom, but will go for what works.
But the advantage of the Pandora is that you can easily install Debian instead of Angstrom.

With Debian, you have sufficiently enough package for a loo....ong time ;) Debian rocks.

There is a new application which is called "Discobox".  This is a *new screenshot*  (always under ncurses with a screen rows/cols of 15 x 50).

You don't have to release source code to release a PND.

There are freaks who love CLI or ASCII based UIs. Simplicity and efficiency of such apps is always appreciated and welcome ;-)

So, to clarify, is your program available for purchase now?

If so, where?....

Thanks!
Thank you for your interests.

Officially not. Some may have it because I jointly work together with them.

The source code is not likely to be published on GIT and so on. Unfortunately, or at least not currently planned.

Purchasing of a new release (Version 3.x) (providing careful bug fixes) is planed. No date is currently fixed.

New modules are currently being designed, especially for business and finances (EBIT,...  shares analyzer and so on).

Any dreams can still be implemented (maybe) in this release or the next one. Any ideas are welcome anytime.

Sincerely Yours,

Hi patrick295767 !

Thanks for the info. So Version 3 indicates, that there are two versions available.

Why not providing/selling them now - as an appetizer :) .

I was a fan of SPI's OpenAcess - a database with wordprocessor, PIM and more.

No GUI - just plain Dos-console  (until Version IV).

Does someone remember this program ?

greetings

Oh many thanks !!

Similarly to "Need Input" as in the movie with Johnny V, I would say :

" Need Ideas " :)

I never used this program but seems interesting since it has also a similar "Start Menu" or Menu as ncurses PIM.

(regarding your proposal, I evaluate it...)

Unfortuntaly there arent much screenshots of your app: open access IV   :(

Hi,

open access was just an example - no need to copy it. the idea behind is a common surface, common interfaces for applications (ie. text in wordprocessor can be filled with records from database, notes etc.) and common usability (menus, etc.).

But what about version 2 of ncurses PIM ?

Greetings

I don't like version 2.x. It is not so comfortable to use in my opinion since the taskbar was too basic (to switch between apps).

Would you have more shots of open access? it looks pretty very nice :)

Hi,

To reply to the above question, in the version 2.9, there is a possibility to have the MS Exchange calendar in the Agenda. You can select also your favorite color if you have various calendars (business, ms exchange, ...).

I have my meetings from MS Exchange which are also in it. You have to press 's' or F9 to get the menu or the top bar, and you mouse click or select Sync exchange to sync with it (if you were offline).

There is no support for Gmail (yet).

New info have been made available on the official website:

Best regards

Pat

I'd like to bring the great PIM suite "KDEPIM/PI" into the game again. Appointment book, todo management, contacts, a password manager and even some simple Outlook sync was included!

This was a great solution running on Sharp Zaurus, Linux and Windows.

I was not successful to compile it for the Pandora yet.

Does anyone want to try? I am not an expert, it's QT-based, so needs qmake etc. CodeBlocks PND should come with the necessary tools, but I don't know how to do it correctly.

Here are the sources:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/kdepimpi/files/KDE_Pim/2.2.10/

And here are some screenshots and photos of KDEPI/PI running on the Zaurus SL-C3200:

+1 for KDEPIM/PI

As Hermocom says it was a great solution on the Zaurus.....

Those were the days!.....was like having a Pandora that fit in your shirt pocket....can't do that with Pandora....at least my shirt pockets....

;)

Those look like Psion...? :)

The best one ever made was PIM/PE, a text editor / plain text file based PIM suite, with an add-on GUI. Incredibly flexible, incredibly efficient due to short commands and text in the text file which controlled the behavior (instead of lengthy GUI actions)... For example, creating a new weekly recurring appointment was as easy as writing into the text file

+( 2013-06-28 weekly 4pm

+a Window cleaning

+)

With some kind of fuzzy logic for parsing the text describing the time, so that instead of "weekly" you could also weite "w" etc.

This was an entire database handling system, so that you could define your own tags and search for them, filter for them etc. in the text file or in the GUI.

For those interested, you may read my PIM/PE tutorial I wrote back then:

http://www.hermocom.com/de/knowledgebase/hplx/pimcourse

(you can safely skip lesson 1, since that only explained how to install that system).
