Early Screenshots Of Intellivision Emu Port

So sorry this is taking so long :( As I said in a previous post, a new baby arriving, coupled with a recent office move at work have left me with very little time to work on this of late.

If anyone is interested/willing to look at the sourcecode so far, then I will be more than happy to upload it somewhere, but be warned it is still incomplete (some glitches like the up-direction not being registered due to its 0x00 keyvalue, very sloooow, sound almost unusable).

It's put together in C++, the style adopted by the original author is quite nice, but I suspect it will need serious chopping apart to optimize for GP2X - It might just be quicker to start afresh :S

BTW, I do have a couple of other plans afoot too which I'd like to devote some time to as well: Portable Fruit Machine Emulator (not sure if it's possible on the '2X lol) and a replacement front-end. Whilst emulator coding I am familiar with, all of these are something of a learning curve for me in respect of both ARM and '2X development so working on one project can be beneficial to another ;)

Doesn't work for me yet... but I have hope for improvenments. :D

I unzipped the file to my SD's /, but when I run the .gp executable, it simply flashes a black screen and crashes.

Do you have a copy of of the exec.bin and grom.bin intellivision roms? These should be placed in the same directory as intvx2.gpe.

Heck, no. Didn't think of that. I'll give that a try. Thanks!

UPDATE:

Yeee Haaawwww! I've got my Intellivision back! Well, I still have my game deck and all of my games, but this way I can take 'em with me! Thanks a bunch!

The emulator is a bit "choppy" but I'm sure will improve in time. I'll keep playing with the settings as see if there's a combination that will make Lock 'n Chase more playable.

Great stuff!

Yeah, I tested it today. It's darn near impossible to select a game. Only got it to work once (made 4-tris crash somehow, and was able to load Burgertime) and it played in monochrome (no colors) and I couldn;t escape out of the emulator from that point on. The sound was very good, but the emulator needs a whole lot of repairing.

So far, the only ROMs I've had trouble with are the Imagic games (Atlantis, Beauty and the Beast, etc.).

When I reset the emulator with these attached, I get a black screen then it crashes... back to the GP2X main menu screen.

Must be something about the Imagic images (?)
