E-ink Screen

Cool, but I think this image on the page can lead to a wrong interpretation ... it doesn't have touchscreen, so it can't be used to take notes

Depends on your interpretation I guess. I think they did it for size comparison, but you could also see it as "you need a separate notebook to makes notes". But I agree it might imply it replaces the notebook.

If you like to have 2 screens, because more is better probably, there is an e-reader for that to: https://www.crowdsupply.com/diptyx/diptyx-e-reader
The resolution isn't the best and I don't know if it's fully open-source, but it exists and that's good.

What's the point of 2 screens? I can only look to 1 at a time. Though I guess it may be handy for PDF files which tend to be really crappy with resizing. Comics might benefit, too.

And of course, because it has 2 screens it is like a DS, which is like a Pandora (according to the official site), which is like a Pyra. So this e-reader is basically like a Pyra.

because it is like a book. you read one page then the other then both screens refresh. in effect you only get half the screen refreshes . i think it looks more like a paperback/hardback book.
ok, on further reading it can only do epub format. no pdf etc... open source so other formats could be added....

I think people are used to reading a book which has two visible pages. There is no need for 2 screens as you can show the full book on a single screen, so we usually get 1 screen e-readers. And you can close the e-reader so the screens are protected.
With the ESP32 you could probably run some games in DS-style dual scren setup but the physical controls aren't ideal for gaming.

480 x 640 resolution is not great. it compares itself to a Kindle gen 11 paperwhite , well "The all-new Kindle has a 6-inch E INK Carta touchscreen with a resolution of 1072×1448 with 300 PPI" . this thing is also twice the price almost. i like the concept but we are back in Pyra territory, a niche product for a few at a premium price due to small batch costs.

I agree, but you'll always have this problem when you have low volume open-source hardware compared to high volume commercial products. Especially for a niche product.
It would have been nice if open-source products would be cheaper so most people would also have a monetary incentive to purchase open-source products more.

Shure, Dual Screen where you have 2 Pages is a nice Idea, but I prefer to have it the normal E-Ink Reader way whit Page Change Buttons, the big difference between an normal Book and an E-Book is that you would change the Page by changing the Paper Page, which don't work here ..
I think I stay now whit the Boox Go7, its a nice Device even though its a bit slow some times, I was thinking yesterday of getting me the Boox Palma 2 Pro which is the size of an Smartphone, but its only do the stuff the Go7 can too

An Opensource Reader where nice, but the issue there is that you can't have your normal Reader Apps, while on an Android Based like the Boox Go7, you have the whole Android Store whit Apps like Kindle, Swoosh (for Comics), etc, also I can use the Reader for Productive Stuff as its also nice for Note Taking..

Two pages could be useful to take notes, one with the book and the other to write on ... if it had touchscreen

Im still have to figure out how to use my BooxGo 7 as Note Book, I did test this evening a bit: the Build in Notebook Feature only works in the Onyxlauncher, not in Niagara Launcher I prefer to use.. , but there is also One Note from Microsoft, I actually wanted to get rid of my OneDrive Subscription, but maybe its too early as its works quite good..
I though Swoosh and Readly did stop working again, but now they work fine so I keep the Boox as my E-Book Reader whit more features than the Kindle..

This thing could even run Youtube, but it would not look that good on E-Ink ..

One Feature I really found useful is the Calculator: Its nice to have an 7 inch Touchscreen Calculator that don't need Background Light actually ..

I think the rest of my Winter Vacations will get used to kill my E-Magazine Backlog on the Boox ..

To be honest my kindle battery has gone flat. I hardly use it anymore. I drive a lot as a service technician so i have listened to ebooks for the last 4 years at least! I think i have "read" over 2 or 3 hundred books in that time. lol
all of Asimov ,Heinlein , Prachett , Jordan , Harry Harrison , Niven , Pournell , McCaffery , Adams , David Weber, Dennis E Taylor , all the Culture novels, Enders Saga.......just to name a few.

I think if you have Spotify they also now provide audiobooks, just in case you already have Spotify but only use it for music. I do have to say that I cannot pay the same amount of attention to a book while driving compared to 100% reading a book in a chair. But that's probably also why I cannot read that many books. While I can listen to podcasts much easier, or radio, but there I don't usually mind that much if I miss a part.

Pretty much my entire 45+ year career has been as a service tech for some company or other mostly driving sometimes getting flown to sites... to me radio is more distracting than audiobooks. currently a few chaptes into Glasshouse by Stross after finishing Accelerando last week. i do over an hours drive between jobs most days..

As hopefully my last big buy this year I did decide to get me the Boox Palma 2 Pro: its basically an Smartphone Sized E-Ink Device whit Android, like the Go7 but a bit smaller (so more easy to carry), but whit a bit more power and more fokussed on the E-Book and Productive Device Part: when you can read that good on E-Ink, then you also can use it to write and read that .. , its also got an 5g Modem Build in, but I think because you need to follow some more rules for an Phone than just for an Tablet whit Mobile Data its just for Mobile Internet, although I will not use this feature as I would to use this need to get me an second Sim -Card and pay I think 10 € per Month for it .., so its mostly WLAN ..
I think I will use it like said as an E-Book Reader, for Notes, maybe E-Magazines, but whit 6 inch they might be a lot of Zooming involved, but for the Swoosh App, so Comics they have an Panel View so you have only the Panels and not the whole Comic Side.. its Android 15, so it should be good for a lot of stuff..
This time im a bit unsure wether I should use the Niagara Launcher or just the normal Onyxlauncher as this looks better than the standard Launcher of the Go 7..
