has anyone done this? i am thinking about doing it to my nlu (non-lighted unit), but i want to know if anyother people except for the dude who made the guide on gp32emu. would you reccomend doing this? would you discourage doing this?

howdy. i was thinking about doing it myself a while back.. but i heard nothing but bad things. some people had trouble putting their gp back together, while alot of dye jobs actually looked really bad. i remember hearing alot about how people tried to dye it black and it came out dirty gray. i would advise against, though ive never personally tried it.

spraypaint will come off I reckon.

and dye... either makes your gp32 look like it's been dipped in mud, or it comes out pink or blotchy purple...

plus it'll knock most of the value off it if you ever want to sell it in 20 years when GP32s are rare.

well spray paint will rub off unless you seal it. i hand painted my gba with acrylic but didnt seal it so i tall rubbed off and turned my hands gold. so i wanted to dye it like bright read and make the grey thing with a clear resing or colored one ( you know like making a mold with klean klay or latex then pouring in the resin, ive done it with gundam models and it does good remakes) then have like a cool gp32. or just making a mold of every plastic peice and making resin replicas. like doff bodies for your gp32.

Personally, I think painting or dying your case is a recipie for disaster. It will never look right and will eventually wear off or scuff.

I am going to order some air hardening clay from an art store and attempt to make a mould of something disposable (like an old joypad casing or something like that). I will then attempt to recreate the casing in dyed resin. If I am successful I will definatly create a bunch of colored GP32 cases and sell them online.

Why can't gamepark just make colored gp32s? It's not gonna affect their sales. I would like a silver one... ;)

Man that would be awesome, but how would you get the fine details in?
Like I said, I will see how it goes before I make any commitment to the project. They should turn out ok, but they would probably be a lot lower quality. Probably like those cheap cell phone facias.

I was thinking about doing that for my GBA... but after my Afterburner experience I think I give it a miss...
cant you spray vanish it afterwards?
