Hi guys

I've got a GBA SP but I find myself hardly playing it these days

I was wondering if anyone knew of a tool/method to get the internal save data off a GBA cartridge and onto your computer, so its usable by an emulator, like Visualboyadvance etc?

I want to try and preserve my Mario Kart Super Circuit times ;)

After a bit of searching around, it seems it is possible with a DS running homebrew. Unfortunately I don't have a DS.
So is this possible with just a GBA SP, and some sort of USB flash cartridge thing or something for the hardware side of things?
I looked into getting a flash cartridge for GBA carts a while back, but got confused with the different models/specs

Any ideas?
Cheers, B

google G-Bank for GBA. Allows you to dump entire contents off GBA cartridge (including save files) into its internal memory and then you can transfer it to SD card or PC. It also allows you to run homebrew software of an SD card (it transfers it to its internal memory first)

I'm sure there are websites that explains this better than me! :)

You can do it with an Xboo cable too can't you?

Found two programs for dumping a GBA Save.

CODE
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=3974

Requires a NDS and a slot-1 device. (not what you want since you only have a GBASP)

CODE
http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/SendSave/cart_save.zip

Requires a GBA (obviously) and a slot-2 device such as GBAMP.

I've only used the second one before, dumping pokemon and mario kart saves from my real cartridges to a CompactFlash card.
First you boot up the program and select an option, it then asks you to swap your cartridge out for your GBA game, and then swap back to write it to the CF-memory. It works great.

Good luck.
