GP32 Dosbox?

Getting back on track.. ;)

If a "DOS emu" was ported (ie: an XT or 286 emu, for instance), then it would run DOS on it (FreeDOS or a real DOS), and then you could run Windows 3.1 on it; ie: DOS and Windows aren't open source, but thats not relevent since they'd be running on the emu. More to point is getting DOSBox up to speed or writing a new x86 emu as DOSBox is traditionally very poor performer on low end devices.

Windows 3.1 doesn't provide DOS; it runs on top of DOS.

but do you think that would ever be possible...

Don't forget it also only takes 10 hours to boot MacOS on a PSP :)

A DOS emu from scratch would be cool, but who has the time for that?

Well, writing a basic XT emu is a cakewalk; I started one years ago that did CGA I think.. worked okay, and not that much code really :p But when you want to emulate VGA it starts to be a right pain as its quite a \flexible setup; then theres Adlib and SoundBlaster support, and all that shit.. *bleg* :)

Actually it only takes a few minutes. They guy that said it took 10 hours was running Linux, and then running Bochs with a windows install (don't know what version), then running basilisk in windows, then running Mac OS 7.5.5 in Basilisk... Needless to say, that's why it was slow. Basilisk has been ported to PSP, so now you can just run basilisk instead of all the other stuff as well. It's a lot faster.
